pretty decent fuel mileage I'm thinkin'

I've been driving the 1009 like there is a raw egg under the accelerator pedal....this mornings fillup computes right at 20 mpg. I'm pretty happy with that.

why CUCV is better than a Deuce (just fun)

The yello thing is an 80's gull wing kit car, a Bradley GT2, electric powered.

    closeups of CUCV window guards

I have no info about the cost or availability of the window guards : they were on the surplus Border Patrol vehicle when I aquired it. I estimate it would be a thousand dollar bill for materials + fabrication + install.

why CUCV is better than a Deuce (just fun)

I like the tires comment, heck, I just spent $3500 for tires on my '109 van = more than my CUCV is worth. Well maybe close 8<)

why CUCV is better than a Deuce (just fun)

No " 3 -axle-hassle" with DMV, DOT, and other law enforcement. Current tags cost me $19 for the CUCV. I dunno about the size -of -the- garage thing.... if you bang the back end of the garage and half is still hanging out, will the missus say that is a good thing ?

    cucv on a deuce frame

I wonder if its actually operable ? Or is the cab just placed on there ? Thinking about the control mechanics of that setup : steering, gearshift, pedals..........

I'm imagining an extended-extended cab (6 door) with the dually bed.....I like it.

CUCV w/window guards is now RED !

The vehicle is ex-Border Patrol as shown in my avatar (so it wasn't green anyway). The guards are to protect agents from rocks thrown on the MX side. That stuff doesn't make the newspapers back East?

Like this (on a similar truck).

CUCV w/window guards is now RED !

My "thing" is to repurpose MVs (I think that's the modern, hip terminology) rather than restore them. I didn't want it either tan or green. Or Air Force blue. Or purple nor orange. Gray makes it look like its primered. Black too hot for AZ. White , well it was white w/ green stripe before...not...
