This is on my what was once a "parts deuce" that ended up being too good to part out. During my post road trip checks, I found this. Warped pulley or bearings in compressor? Makes air just fine and I dont think any noises...well that I can hear.
There seems to be alot of posts on the Allison shifting hard on downshifts. But not finding much on hard upshifts. The shift from 1-2 is pretty hard....shakes the seats and may be normal but I am looking for a way to make it a little easier. A shift that hard cant be good for the joints.
My steering box does not have the nut and flat head adjustment screw on the end of it. Sox with the box in the pucs, how to I adjust some steering play out of it?
Started process of removing my thermostat and decided I would go ahead and remove radiator side tanks to fix a couple of small leaks. After the many many bolts I have them off and found some scale build up. I am no radiator expert....actually not an expert at anything in the civilian world. Is...
Can I please get pics/ideas in Installing an aftermarket jack? Going to start tearing my landing gear apart and see if that shaft can be bent back but will most likely take it all off.
Two of my bows (one of which does not have the metal lugs in each end) are about 1" longer than the rest. Dont see it mentioned in WP-0036....are they the front two or are they the wrong ones?
He hooked me up with his new clear tube that is easy to install on M939 trucks to see if any air is being sucked into the system via giving visibility on the return side. Works great and I appreciate guys like you making lives easier for the less experienced like me!!
I did not see this started yet so here it is.
I rebuilt the two side rails and headache rack, and installed the new to me troop seats.
I also started prepping the underside of my hood trying to preserve it. Got rust popping through in a couple of spots.
I know I need to turn the android, however the plug I have to remove is not wanting to budge. Dang near stripped it today. I have it soaking in PB right now. besides that I am asking if there is anything else I can do to help my problem. The truck has zero...I mean no power if there is any...
Builds air just fine. Has a brand new dryer. The compressor gets louder the closer it gets to being released through the dryer. Just dont remember my last one sounding like this. Video shows the noise vanish as soon as air is released. All good or do I have a problem???
Thank you!!!
I bought a set of these and they are decent. The orange plug that is part of the harness is 100% junk. I am needing some more headlights for other trucks and was wondering what longevity y'all are seeing with these? Have not had mine long and dont want to buy more if they aren't lasting very long.
No idea where to post this....
I came across someone that had two sets of fiberglass troop seats for a deuce. One for regular bed and one for long bed. Good price so I bought them all....even had headache racks. Turns out, the short set won't fit.
The deuce bed stake pockets are 36" on...
I got some new inner frames a while back and got around to putting them in the other day. I prepped and primered the hinge (had to re-use old ones) and screwed them in and hung the frames.
Just now tried to lock the frames in and they hang maybe 1/8" too low to pass by the window lock deal on...
My cab Insulation behind the seats is pretty shabby. Has anyone found any locally sourced insulation that works decent? I re-insulated the hard top in my deuce with iso-mat (sleeping mat) but those things get expensive.
Looking for the TM that has the disassembly of the Landing gear in it. The one in the TM section has everything but that unless I am overlooking it. Got a bent main shaft that goes down into the gear...Pretty sure it will be easy but want to look at its innards before I tear it apart.
I have the small inline filter and best I can tell it is 141 micron. In the filter world I am pretty sure that is mighty loose. I know the spin on at the block is a 30 micron but I would like a tighter micron before it. Does anyone have a source of supply for a smaller micron that is like the...
A big thank you to James for grabbing my M105a2. He saved me from having to drive 6 hours and then turn around and drive to the same area again for my job...We really appreciate it!!!
I just had my PTO rebuilt with all new bearings and bragged about what an excellent job the shop did...well, i installed it today and just got finished filling it up with fluid and it started leaking from the output shaft area...I had originally taken it off due to leaks around the other seals...
