$175 is pretty expensive I think. I got told the same thing (and I keep wondering if I was being taken) so I grabbed one from the salvage yard in KS, not too far from you. I bet he'd give you two for 1/4 of that. Not guaranteed to be leakproof. I reinstalled mine this fall and it worked...
I'd try the salvage yard route, they'd probably be real cheap. I have 2 that I swapped out, but they are CARC painted tan. Cost of shipping if you want them.
Follow up: The new unit works fine right now. I had to recharge both batteries with it, so I'm getting the use out of it. Will post if I have the issue identified above again.
So funny thing is I did paint in the garage, but it was sunny and 60 degrees until 2:00, then snowing by 5:30. Nasty snow too, almost had to pull over because visibility went to nothing. I couldn't imagine trying to negotiate that with the 5ton wipers..
Pict of the bed (still wet and has an...
I did the rookie mistake in the 5-ton last weekend. I left the master on! Had to break out the old school charger for the NOCO would'nt even see it when it's that low. I charged the batteries in 12v separately, then put them together, and kept charging in 24v. It's been flashing 25% when I...
Intentionally flatten the little cars. I actually drive a small car myself, but when you're in the big trucks even cute little 4x4's are tiny. I try to avoid the traffic by doing the off hours, but I would put Denver up as the worst traffic even against California. Maybe only LA traffic on...
Thanks! Generally it's in good shape, only had surface rust spots (except for the battery box which I replaced when it was left rotting at Riley and the battteries froze and split). It took me most of the summer to paint.
Unfortunately work is across Denver, and if I drove it daily I would...
It came out of Riley, then I bought it from a SS member in Castle Pines. It's been painted. I started to paint accents black (clevis hooks and door handles.
Follow up: After rundown, the unit worked, but then th next time I came up, it was blinking at me, and I hadn't turned it off. I returned it, and the company sent me a new unit. I'll try it this weekend.
Definitely think with proper measurements and procedure I'll get the toe in issue identified and solved. Thanks all for the validation. Again, I'll post some picts and my experience here.
What's a good way to gauge the shocks? Or do the old ones just suck so much that its worth it to...
If it turns out to be the LQ2. I had the same issue and put my experience and some other threads in my post. Make sure you buy the right one, pay attention to inlet diameters, 2 of us bought the wrong one.
It's my Post #8
That LQ2 is a little easy to fail, and is pretty cheap to replace. It...
I checked to be sure it wasn't in 6wd by jacking up the front, and spinning a tire a couple of weeks ago. The front driveshaft continued to move, then flipped the front switch, and it won't. I did a quick and dirty measure and it didn't seem that off, but to do so I wanted Soldier B and...
So I checked mine out, nothing but a connector on the bottom of the tank, to the drain valves by the stairs. Maybe using the updated TM doesn't always help.
Started the big guy up to keep things moving. I had sent off the NOCO G7200 to fix the firmware problem I had posted about before, so it's not on a charger. No issues, just a little sluggish starting in the cold. Was going to turn on the heater core, but didn't get to that (I isolated it bak...
