This is not a current pict of the yard, but I forgot to upload this for anyone drooling over lockers or wanted the original placard verbiage. I found this on the 15 or so USMC trucks that Glen had in the yard back in October.
How are you doing anything in this Colorado cold? The shop is heated via electric heat, but i can't bring myself to keep it 68 degrees. Hope you landed under deployed chutes...
'97? That's **** near last years model. Maybe I missed it, how did you score that late of a model? 91 925a2 for me (not that it matters much, as everything should be interchangeable).
I see that yours had some big caps, and I do have some smc resistors, but ic spacing and the LED's are through hole. I have a mix, guess mine is newer? Your date code looked like '95, but maybe it's the 9th month.. Does anyone know? Might also be a dare on the board...only if you can get rid...
Ok, I couldn't wait. Here's mine. I totally dig the board that matches up to the pins on the amphenol, I think I need to bust out my Eagle skills and make one. The screws on the button plate started to strip so I stopped there. Exciting! I grabbed a couple more Picts, but photostream is not...
Hmm, little a and N. Crap, might have to do a diagnostic that works on either. I wonder if the old eaton's are 1708 and the newer DANA is 1939. I'll crack my Eaton, but probably not rip it all down. I was at the shop today and couldn't inventory the other ECU's to see if there were different...
Buttons. Yep. That's a good one. Removal of the extra protocols is a plus, as it's the only thing on the bus that talks those I think. And I don't think anyone's debating simplistic operational design of it. I'm all about the electronics and redesign of it. I'm a stock, but not parade...
My god, I searched for 45 min. I found it in the TM's, but it doesn't label it. My truck is 20 miles away, what's the other end connect to?
And what's the color in those Picts? It looks like it had an oil bath..
Yup, I meant 20 connections, not inputs, and some optional. Agree the Arduino could replace it. Besides potential failure and lack of visibility, what don't you like about the current ECU?
Edit: you also said expensive. I sold several for $40 and the going price for take off seems to be $60...
Building a new ECU is laudable, but yes, my vision was an augmentation that covers what you stated, using the existing ECU, that allowed user "changes" that were nothing more than level changes, with real time display of diagnostic things we all want to know (current pressure, target pressure...
One more. The DANA manual doesn't specify what configuration options 0-8 are. Does anyone know what they are (specifically), are they exposed in the DANA tool? I am assuming they might be user configurable settings so if you set those options they may be different from default, or its hard...
And in reviewing the DANA wiring (62), I do see a buzzer and display, I wonder if those are just waiting to be tapped into.
Edit: no display or buzzer, that's another model.. Just the lamp to mess with..
Yes, and interested in helping with the design, and potential manufacture. The other hobby is electronics and I've fab'ed up some custom boards for other projects. I envision two parts, the harness and a self contained processor / remote display panel that has a dash mount or even just a small...
Just read that thread, I just peruse the 5-ton, not the hot rodding one, so I missed it. Which ECU's have you tested with? All of mine are Eaton ones, not one Dana /Spicer, so that might be the difference. Agree that the FMTV ones look fine, just upside down, but haven't tried it either...
LONG story that I should have posted a bit ago, but I got ahold of a Spicer CTIS guru after some mean phone tag and reroutes, so I'm not sure I know where I ended up. My plan was to send him some CTIS modules so he could "upgrade" them for the 70 set point. He said wasn't possible, even though...
