Check out TM 9-2320-361-34P, figure 318 for the piece they are talking about. It has the latch but does not appear as long. Could be the same, just different?
I have spoken with the metal shop. The plates are cut, some still need a small amount of bending and all need the angle iron welded to the corners. I am told this will be done and I will be shipping on the weekend.
I am really sorry for the delays but a late metal shipment and the end of...
Those who change out their flashers without checking them should know that the flasher might be OK, just messing with the grounds may have solved the problem. Always check the flasher independent of the grounds.
It takes so much weight to get the rear springs to flex that I have never had that much on my deuce! We took several feet of roofing to the dump and it still did not seem to flex the springs.
I have not problem using batteries from WalMart. I just like the U6tl. I suppose I could obsess over batteries, but that seems the least of the problems. It takes ten minutes to change out. Much less than a brake job.
Actually I have not had a problem with batteries. I get them new, except for the deuce I bought in July, and they seem to be, well, batteries. Having battery problems is easier than having a hydrovac failure.
I am going to post pics of the rebuild along side another core that I have. I will put the rebuild next to the disassembled core for a comparison.
I really think the brake cylinder hone does a good job, but I was just using what I grabbed at the hardware store.
One item you will want to get...
I fell back on my misspent youth. I ported and polished Chevy heads for one of the truly great engine builders in the 1960's.
So, I got a wooden dowel, cut it off to about 8 inches, taped a strip of 400 emery on it, rolled it like you would a paper towel and put it into a drill.
Took...
I took an air pack apart today. Lots of crud in it. The slave cylinder tube has surface rust. I have worked on it with a brass brush. Now, I need to lightly sand it down.
Any good ideas on how to sand the piston tube?
I found an original M715 in Aubrey, Texas. It has troop seats, a winch and military soft top. The military numbers are painted on the hood.
It is completely original and shows it. Some rust around the fender wells where the sheet metal was welded on.
It is at Aubrey Trailer Sales, asking...
beltfed34 on eBay has a really nice M66 ring listed. It has the padded back rest on it, hard to find sometimes, and looks nice.
They are HEAVY so freight costs will be high to you.
I have changed the filters twice on the jatonka spin on oil filters. The first one I removed spilled some oil, easily wiped up, and when I removed the second I simply put a towel around it and there was little to wipe after.
The second time, I put paper towels around the filter bases and...
We are having a BBQ/Bucking Bull Contest near Denton on Sunday. We are giving the kids rides in the deuce. Anyone wanting to have some good eats, a libation or so and a good time is welcome.
I found a sleeper M35a2c at Hooks last year. Less than $1200 including the buying premium.
We jumped it off, drove it 150 miles in the rain. Three short rides later the brakes quit. No brake fluid in the MC, apparently.
We got lucky. We might not have.
You pay your nickel and takes the...
