The brake on the left is normal. The brake on the right is caged. This means the brake is rendered inoperable, either for towing (with no air supply) or to take it apart and service it.
There is probably a reason why it is caged and should be checked out immediately. The spring inside there is...
No clue, but I had the same issue and mine (923a2 also) was parked uphill slightly too. It only did that a few days and hasn't since. I did change parking spots but that didn't seem to be the deciding factor on needing a prime or not. Three or four starts in a row regardless of parking and it...
This. It sounds like an unloader issue to me. I would start there as rebuilding and cleaning it is relatively simple and cheap.
It may need a new spring if it is constantly stopping at the same pressure.
The paint is somewhat self leveling, but it was too warm outside to allow it to do that on some areas. It just dried too fast. You really have to look close to see the rough spots but they are there.
Thank you. I am very happy with it.
Just so there is no confusion, it is the seal for this part.
I am also assuming that the upper section is splash lubricated from the lower section as there is no drain plug for it, nor is it mentioned in the maintenance TM.
I should probably get new drain plugs for the axles too. They are...
I am in need of axle oil seals for my 923a2. I need to replace all six seals as they all leak and are getting worse. I assume these are also called pinion seals. It is the seals for the shafts that run from axle to axle. The TM says "17010PAFZZ5330-01-023-0269A-1205-U-78500SEAL,PLAIN,ENCASED"...
That looks great. Mine is Baer 383 and black Rustoleum Camo spray paint.
I need to do the rims yet but if I am not busy it is raining.
I rolled the Baer on. I am somewhat set up to spray, but I don't have much experience with it.
Yes, most of them are open diffs. The Marine trucks have lockers in the axles.
One option is to swap axles with a Marine truck. Or you can buy lockers seperately and install them in yours. A few different options are available for lockers and a few members have/ had Marine axles for sale.
