Oddly enough my google fu seems to be failing me. I cannot seem to find one of the trailer manufacturers websites that would actually list their trailers by model AND list weight capacities and curb weights. odd that.
So as some of you know, I've got a back burner project looking at a 5 ton tractor for hauling 2-3 armoured cars to WWII events. Something I just realized is that I might be going overweight with 3 armoured cars.
Here's my facts
Payload

REALLY good idea. Much better than the standard lighting. And you can use those light positions for other indicators.
Here's a 13-32Vdc -> 12 Vdc regulator for $27.

Aldie, Va? I drove my deuce through Middleburg on my way around a detour to get to my friend's place in Culpeper. Small world.

There are 24 volt DC / 110 AC inverters out there so you could wire up the truck's electrical system with a DC-DC charger to charge a 24 volt battery bank and keep commonality with other 24 volt hardware on the truck.
Wreckerman, I Dunno, technically renting such a truck as a private individual should at worse net you a query. Though technically, if you're in the employ of the military and driving a military truck but NOT military you're still excluded from the DOT and the States MUST comply with that...
Ug-oh, don't get between the Canadians they might throw rocks or hockey sticks at ya! :wink:
Max, Clark trucks DOES have very good trucks. But they're aimed primarily at nations that they can export refurbished trucks to OR working companies that need the trucks for daily work in off road...
Bjorn, have you thought about adding and additional set of tubing to give the back of the cab more cover so you'd have more usable storage space you can reach from inside the cab?
Clinto, there were sand channels used as standard kit on a lot of armoured recce vehicles. they were supposed to be strong enough to allow you to get your tires across a ditch but sometimes didn't survive or were beaten up. So often times PSP cut to length was used instead. It couldn't support...
