I've been noodling this sort of thing around myself.
Idea's I've had for my back burner project.
1. Heat the shelter with a Diesel Burning heater and it's own battery power supply AND with a hot water heater radiator from the truck engine for pre-heating.
2. 24 volt battery system charged...
RE: Re: RE: What does CTIS offer that you can
oshkosh has it on their MTVR and they show it being used while climbing a grade where the driver needs more traction. How does it work on their trucks?
I know we have one member who's busted one of his. He hit a jersey barrier and it naturally failed. I can't think of anything that wouldn't' fail after one of those was encountered. In some respects, you'd probably want it to fail.
I like my set. They stick out. That's a plus in my book, since...
Ok, My Deuce is up in Virginia right now. It'll be coming back down to Georiga eventually, some time in June hopefully. IF you can get a can to the deuce or I can easily get to a meeting point, I can get the Can to Wrecker man to get an engine in a can and sealed up, store it for a time and then...
RE: New transmission, transfercase, brakelite switch vent sy
You should probably include the brake line vent and brake reservoir vent in the same set of tubing with the gear case vents and fuel vent as another set.
So you're charging the first battery with 12 volts from one source point and the second one with 24 volts across both batteries right? How do you proportion the charging current. Because your 1st battery will have twice the current running across it no?
That's the pressure sensor for the Air Pack which turns on your brake lights. You have the "brake application" point. As they say below, the service vs the emergency. For air that's constantly supplied, you want the RIGHT side glad hand on the rear for tank air.
10,000 lbs is the weight limit on the chassis and design. The tires will carry more weight when dualed BUT if you have a tire failure you're probably going to loose the other tire. Pay attention to tire inflation and temperatures. I personally would rather go with a 10,000 load and take two...
I need to find out what my friend has for hoists. He has a good sized tractor with a bucket. We might be able to add a bar on the bucket. He was talking about getting some new "kit" for his tractor. All he needs is an excuse. ;-)
Hmm, re-surfacing the fly wheel will take additional time. I'll be doing this up in Virginia at Randy's farm which is where the truck is. He has a goodly amount of hardware including a tractor so we have easy way's to move heavy things and lots of tools on my truck plus what he has.
So, rear...
It was attacked frontally, but those were fixing attacks and the main effort was going around the line. It wasn't until the fortress line could be attacked from the rear (or various fortresses surrendered due to the general surrender) could they really be reduced.
Fixed fortifications can...
Ok, I've got a replacement transmission with my deuce. They're both up in Virginia. I'm in Atlanta. What sorts of things do I want to have on hand to do the swap and what should I have on hand while I'm doing the transmission swap?
Things like rear main seal, clutch, throw out bearings, etc...
