Ross recommends a 50 micron full flow filter. I am a really cheap but patient person so I watched ebay for months before something turned up. It looks like you can get something very similar from here: http://www.straightlinesteering.com/Control%20Valves,%20Cylinder%20and%20Steering%20Cylinders.htm
This conversion requires tie-rod ends from two different series (sizes). I used right-hand ends for both because there is no need for periodic adjustment and it won't work loose. There area few different part numbers which you can use; I used whatever was cheapest on ebay. I used ES187R for...
I get questions from time to time asking about part numbers, etc for the steering box and drag link:
The junkyard ford power steering box had a 6-series u-joint and a hex slip shaft which was cut short when removed from the truck:
I separated the right hand yoke/ stub shaft from the yoke on...
The numbers I quoted were "as compared to the usual by-pass type filter." It was and is common to modify the GMC engines for full flow oil filters. I modded several Reo engines to full flow using spin on filters. It is simply choosing the appropriate filter to match the flow.
An ex gm...

The Internal - Combustion Engine in Theory and Practice by Taylor (often considered the bible of engine design)
I want to point out that contrary to the above scan, the Continental multifuel is NOT particularly efficient as diesels go and was bettered by even the mediocre two stroke detroit:
8V92:
0.345 BSFC minimum at 1700 RPM, for an efficiency of roughly 39.8%.
0.355 BSFC at rated horsepower, for an...
The number one thing that makes it a multifuel is the compression ratio. The MAN combustion chamber is supposedly able to reduce the rate of combustion pressure rise inherent in high compression ratio diesel engines. The FDC uses the fact the the viscosity is proportional to the fuel's energy...
If you read the SAE papers in the 50s, the improvement in engine life due to full flow filtering was phenomenal: 50% crankshaft, 66% wrist pin, 19% cylinder wall, and 52% ring wear. I'd have hyped this in advertising, too.
