What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Sorry, I do not, threw the packaging away, but they are easy to find. They look like this. I got mine from Autozone, but they are really cheap. The wire is way too thin in my opinion, I'm sure that will break from vibration, but seems to be doing okay for now. They were under $15 but I see...

    M818 heater help needed

You're probably right on the mounting if it is an arctic heater kit, the ones I showed are just called Personnel Hot Water Heater. They had several different types, 2 were diesel fired heaters, one that mounted under the hood and the other was mounted in the front battery tray. As long as it...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yes, they are 24V, but originally intended for a 12 volt system. After reading the info that came with mine, they were able to handle voltages from 6 - 36 volts. If you were to get a pair that are rated for 12 volts, you can insert a resistor inline to reduce the voltage a bit. Better to...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Use what works for you and you're driving habits and budget. I (used) to drive my 1009 5 days a week fully loaded anywhere from 50 miles to 150 miles a day, changed the oil and filter at about every 10,000 miles. Never had and still don't have a problem, but I'm not driving it every day...

    M818 heater help needed

Looks like you're missing a few parts, or they are just not in the pics. Either way, I have the same issue on my 818. The heater was deleted or cannibalized, who knows, it was not there when I bought it. Here are the diagrams for the install. The heater core box mounts just below the the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Finally got around to hooking up my license plate LED's for Fluffy. Got a ticket for not having any lights shining on my license plate in my CUCV a while back, didn't want to repeat that process again, though the man with the black latex gloves was gentle on me, lol. Pics are dark with no...

Yes they are, soon you'll be shopping for a trailer or a 5-ton, just wait. Just start now by making space in your driveway, something green or tan will occupy that space soon, I can see the future. BTW, Welcome from San Diego, CA, the very South West

    2016 SoCal Fall Rally

I did a speed run (if you can call it that) on that lake bed, got the 1009 up to 78 before running out of room and being choked out by the ensuing dust from my tailgate window not working right. Still blowing out dust boogers from my nose, but it was fun.

It's been awhile since I had to pull off a power steering pump, so forgive me I forget the thread size, but I think it is something like 3/8" x 18, but don't quote me on that, check 1st. Here is a tool that I have had for years for the install and removal of the power steering pump pulley. you...
