Welcome from very Southern Southern California.
Enjoy the new ride, your plans to travel in it around the country sounds like a dream.
Take lots of pics and keep us updated on your progress.
Good Luck!
True, very true.
It's just a quick and dirty way of testing for a fuel issue.
I wouldn't suggest running the truck on ether, just a quick crank to see if it fires up, then turn it off.
And when I say a squirt, I mean a quick half a second squirt.
>>>>I just want to be clear. I'm not saying...
You're probably better off getting that part from a donor truck, if you can find one in good shape.
I looked and yes, it is a B pillar, but no vendors have that part as 1 piece. It is several layers of sheet metal that are connected there so it is going to be a bear to weld in, can be done...
time to throw my 2¢ in, if I may.
I would start your problem by divide and conquer by the simplest means possible. It may be quick and dirty, but it will steer you in the right direction.
All the info before, is all good info, but too many roads to go down without definite proof of a problem...
Timber, going through the same issue with my 1009 and in the process of lightening the load from that headlight circuit to reduce the chance of it happening again.
That thread has a lot of good info, take it to heart.
Found out on my last desert trip about that headlight fuse burning up, same...
There is a guy who I believe is a SS member as well, that shows how to weld using your 24 volt electrical from your MV.
Now the fact that it is a fuel neck makes things a little more difficult, but we are dealing with diesel instead of gasoline, just like armytrucks stated.
Steve, how big is...
The Duramax would be good but one thing that many overlook is the fact that these engines are fully electronic and computer controlled, same with the Allison tranny.
If you want to take the task of retrofitting your electrical to accommodate a more modern powerplant, it can be done, but like...
I have the same issue with my 818, uses the same filter on the IP and was constantly getting clogged before I flushed the tanks.
When it would clog, there was a delayed response on the throttle and it just had no power on the higher end.
I grabbed this NSN, not sure if it is 100% correct. NSN...
Yeah you gotta watch those crimp on connectors. Not saying they are bad, I use them as well, but I have found that sometimes you'll get a good solid connection and it will somehow someway work itself loose over time.
What I started doing if I find myself using them, and I still do, is install...
Was going to say the same as CUCVRUS, the interlock steering wheels came out much later, around '94 or so, so the only CUCV that may have that would be the CUCV II's. Sounds like you may have a linkage or column issue.
With extreme safety, disconnect the linkage pin from the column on the...
My 1009 is starting to get me a little hot under the collar this weekend. It seems I have hit that mark where once I fix one thing, something totally unrelated starts to give me trouble. Then once I fix or figure that out, the 1st thing starts all over again.
I recently changed out the entire...
Stan, I'm in the same boat you are. A little bit of negative arch is normal, but the ride should determine whether or not you need the springs or not.
In my case, my right front spring is weak, I can feel it when I drive and I can see the abnormal wear on that 1 tire. Good shocks [and tires]...
Just a couple from my trip to Death Valley,
only snow we found was up in the mountains above Death Valley.

Good luck with your trip with your new MV.
You're not crazy, but just be safe on your adventure.
You'll get to know your new MV really quick.
Just do your basics and plan your route in case of break downs, bring tools, extra fuel, water and stuff, you'll have to build a list. If you need any...
the one on the left is definitely oil pressure, the other is a coolant sensor but for cylinder water temp, probably for the ICE diagnostic system, since the gage/idiot light sensor is on the driver's side head by #1 cylinder with a single green wire.
Typically GM uses yellow/black for coolant...
You know, I'm not sure on the Hmmwv's, someone else could probably answer that better than I could.
The ones that I see usually have the sugar scoop mounted to the side so not to interfere with the top like on your 2nd pic.
If you have the scoop mounted on the back, it looks like it would hit...
