Dual whip antennas & parts needed for installation

Yes they do, I had to look really quick, since I wasn't sure. I have been in the store and have bought mostly ammos cans, he has a good price on those. He sells a lot of comm equipment, not sure if it is a "good" price or not. The link shows the AS3900 without a mount, not sure if one is...

Dual whip antennas & parts needed for installation

I have been wanting to add the dual whips to my M1009 for a while now and started looking at the parts that I would need to do the same. I local military surplus vendor here has a few of the AS3900's and other similar types of long 9' whips, but they are about $295 each, complete and stated...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

CUCVLOVER, what kind of exhaust are you running? The reason I ask, 'cause your engine, trans may be stock but your exhaust definitely does not sound it, just curious. I may have to do a speed video, so you guys won't be in trouble with the law alone.:driver:

    Front end/Rear end Swap

Not sure on the flipping the spring part, but I could be wrong. I know many sell a spring shackle flip kit which is supposed to convert the springs from tension type to compression type. ORD is one, there are others. http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/shacklekit.htm

    Front end/Rear end Swap

It's okay, we all learn somewhere sometime, none of us, well except me maybe [I kid] was born an expert.rofl As CUCVNut stated, you'll need a pickle fork to separate them, easier if you have an air hammer fork tool, but and hammer and pickle fork will do. If you don't have a pickle fork, you...

    2016 SoCal Spring Rally

Already marked on my calendar, can't wait. Now I just have to try to get the stuff done that I was planning on doing, before so I can test it out. :doghead::naner::beer::naner:

    Front end/Rear end Swap

PeeWeeQ, I am so glad you brought up this topic as I am looking at the possibility of doing almost the same project, but for slightly different reasons. My 1009, is pretty much factory stock, especially the suspension and axles. I have changed out the rear U-joints chasing a noise and the...

Gasoline in a 6.2 CUCV what?

As for the rebuilding aspects of a 6.2/6.5, they can be rebuilt even with slight cracking. Sounds crazy, and I would be in the same boat, replace [cheaper] over rebuild [$$], but this thread on Diesel Place investigates this with surprisingly good results. Now as for the cost of doing this, who...

    New member from va

Welcome from Very Southern California. Good Luck on your truck, love to see some pics. Trust me, when I bought my 5-ton, I was slightly intimidated when 1st trying to find the right parts and actually start working on it. The way I look at it now is,the parts are just bigger and heavier and...

California Title Registration Diesel Smog Law and GL loadout info for M35 Deuce 5 Ton

As long as you are not intending on using it as Commercial. Commercial use, whole different story. Pretty much anything pre-1974 is a no brainer for no smog requirements on a gasser. So you're good to go!~!~

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Well, let's see. I love it when you work on your truck and you suddenly realize that the last person who worked on it, before you, was a complete idiot. I'll explain later. I went on a Death Valley trip a couple of weekends ago, real fun. Quite a bit bumpy and dusty, but real fun. Anyway...

Oil pressure reads nearly 100 psi when cold.

Like they said, start to worry if it starts to blow oil filters and the o-rings out. Sounds like the motor is a little tight (good) and like Rusty said, it should free up after a bit.

    M813 wiring for glow plug

There is also a diagram on the underside of your battery tray, if it is still legible. It is step #3 where it indicates lead #509

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

I want to say F-18 Hornets, but that is just a guess, 'cause that's what flies around here most often. If anyone else knows, please correct me. Sadly I had to use the super zoom with a tele-converter to get those shots, he was moving so fast and away...

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

Just got back from a trip with the CUCV trailing through Death Valley and saw this guy doing what I guess is considered low altitude radar maneuvers? Between Trona and Panamint Springs are a series of radar towers in the valley of the mountains. Several military bases are nearby, but I am...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That's a good way. I use the Thexton tool #THX383. It is supposed to make things easier. I guess it would if you had an extra hand or 2, which I do not. It works kind of like your method, it hooks to the lip of the bracket and you use a breaker bar to apply the leverage. This all sounds good...

    M 1009 power steering pulley

Whatever you do, DO NOT loosen that line or have it loose when the engine is running. If you are doing so to try to gravity bleed, that is fine, but that is the high pressure side, so don't expect much to come out. If that line is loose, you'll have PS fluid all over the engine along with the...

M939 is ownership practical in SoCal?

The 3 or fewer vehicles is in the 2nd paragraph under Background. Not exactly sure what they mean, maybe it's late or they are just wording it in circles. The link is below, take a read for yourself. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onrdiesel/onrdiesel.htm
