Back in the days when I was a auto tech, I would run into this from time to time (grounding issues).
It is one of the most overlooked items on any vehicle with an engine, battery and charging system. Even more complicated with computers and electronics.
May I suggest using multiple grounding...
Didn't do squat.
Was raining, it was cold below 50 ( that is freezing by California standards).
I did play on the computer and found that when I took pics and video of when I changed out my 3 lever headlight switch some time ago, Google was kind enough to make a short little movie out of it...
You know CUCVRUS, sometimes you come to that crossroads in your life where you want things to be simpler and back to basics, at least that's what is is for me. I have a much newer daily driver vehicle that has all the creature comforts that I need, but at the time, my (soon to be ex)wife is...
They sell those Fumoto drain plugs at several parts places and speed shops. I have seen them for years from Summit Racing, but those they stock are most likely for your run of the mill Chevy, Ford and Dodge variants.
They do have a web site, but they list all your common vehicles, no MV's are...
I always enjoy the story of the man who siphoned the wrong tank, whether it's true or not. When you said meth heads stole it, It immediately made me think of this.
Story, or legend is, that a man who was stealing gasoline tried to steal gasoline from a RV but siphoned the wrong tank. What...
Nothing to report on my end. Took Fluffy out for a spin around town to "purge" any remaining old diesel out of her. Running good and strong like a 5-ton should.
I propped my cell phone between the window crank and defrost vent to take some video...
That is what I am looking for. Thanks for the pics of your set-up, that bushing is bigger than I thought it was.
I have that horrible squeak too, for now, I have something jammed in between the 2 brackets, it will eventually fall out or wear away, so I think your setup will do just fine.
I was thinking the same as well, at least after I really looked at it. It makes sense both ways, but the way it is built allows for some minor engine movement where welding it altogether would probably just cause it to break somewhere else.
After driving my 818 around town the other day, I noticed the exhaust stack swaying back and forth a bit too much. Every once in awhile it would clank against bracket mounted between the front of the passenger side door and the front right fender (part #9 in the diagram).
I took a look and...
Are you sure that some of our crazy California laws aren't rubbing off into Arizona? We are next door neighbors, but that's even crazier than here in CA.
Edit: I completely understand the differences between on road and off-road, that makes at least some sense.aua:recovry4x4:
I have to hit you up one day for some info (if you're up to it). Looking at "possibly" moving to AZ from CA and I may be bringing my 818 along, Maybe.
Going through some life changes here and may need to make a fresh start but want to keep my options open and AZ is one of those options.
Cool...
I have to agree with both CUCVRUS & tim292stro, I would hold off on any mod's until getting home.
Just do like CUCVRUS says, go through the safety items that will enable you to drive it home or at least determine if you can drive it home. If it won't make it 10 miles down the road without major...
Just tried again but with a different browser, using Safari and had no problems.
Well only 1 minor issue, there is no count up for uploading photos, so you have no progress indicator when and if it is uploading, but this could be just the way Safari handles javascript and not with the site itself.
Tried again, even restarted my computer just to clear up anything, was only able to upload 1 photo at a time. Even when uploading that 1 photo, it would sometimes fail. Uploading more than 1, always fails.
The below photo took 3 tries before registering onto the site. The other photo that is...
I am having the same issue here on my end.
replied to a post and tried to upload 4 pics, the counter stated that it was uploading but never seemed to register on the thread.
I was able to finally upload 1 pic at a time (instead of the 10 the uploader says it will allow).
Until the issue is...
Good luck on your console project, can go many different ways.
Mine, I had a spare console that was for another project that came from a civi Chevy Tahoe/Suburban '94-'96, I think.
I just sized it up and it fits pretty close, a small gap at the bottom, but not too bad. I used threaded rivets...
In my 818, I am currently running 2 Group 31 type batteries and it seems fine, but there is some reasons to run 4 batteries, but not always needed.
Like I said, my 818 only has 2 at the moment. As long as you are using 2 good deep cycle style batteries, you can't really go wrong. You...
