$428.57 a pop, posted from phone and unhappy face was easiest way to block my address on the quote but was relevant too. wouldn't mind a set if they really are good for 50 odd cfm on a ldt, i don't remember the post number in this thread but someone reported dropping a couple hundred degrees off...
disconnected the fuel line for the flame heater and installed a plug on the inlet at the injection pump, not likely to be needed here in loserana if it works (pump works with switch but don't know if it lights) killing a leak in the small line at the source. using bottle jack and wood pushed...
don't think id bother trying to start a old school diesel at that temp, would take a few hours of heat under a tarp, wouldn't hurt to get batteries warmed up some too
not looking forward to the part where i assemble and install my 395s the dually was less effected then the 3/4 ton suburban, waiting to have time to service the bearings, brakes and install new wheel seals so i don't need to take em back off for a while
random 14k pound projectiles are the spice of life, whats more exciting then a deuce doing an impression of the koolaid guy through the side of your house?
if you are getting air at the primary and fuel is not hitting the ground and you sure that the pump works you may have a issue in the tank, heard of a pump pick up coming apart, just installed a parker pump in my truck and when i removed the sender my hose was turning into jello
as a line tech and the diesel guy at my gmc dealer id suggest looking for a running take out, by time its built youll be well above used replacement price and the possibility of missing one of the cascade failure parts is possible, worst case cash scenario I see crated reman multifuels on a...
all i had on hand was some 400 psi oil cooler line, it may hold up better but not sure how much, will be keeping tabs on it, might even toss a short piece in the basket filter to see how it ages without removing the pump assy as it just barely clears the 109 box
removed front driveshaft to prevent pesky sprague transfer case from kicking in front axle again on interstate, left 2 black stripes and almost left one brown one. serviced the fuel system and discovered no filter in the first canister and a lot of rusty crap, nothing evil in 2nd or 3rd...
letting the pre turbo egt get below 300 degrees is a good practice and generally the accepted safe shutdown temp across most diesels, i can effect the temp quite a bit on my dodge/cummins quite a bit with how i approach the parking area and use of manual tranny, down shifting/coasting in gear...
thanks for the offer, i am a heavy/diesel tech at a buick/gmc dealer and ain't met too many things i cant fix, even if they aren't broken, just a matter of time and money. saw yours ate a diff, that sucks
i think i am going to sit this one out, when my sprag transfer case decided to kick in at 45-50mph on sundays ride the driveline bucking jogged the rear suspension enough to kick off a upper dogbone and loosened up a couple more, so i am going to weld tabs on em all till i have time to replace...
went out for the first nice long run since i got it and after maybe 8-10 miles at 45-50 things got real interesting as the driveline started popping and unloading, got onto the shoulder then inspected things and found nothing leaking or dangling, could see a pair of light black front tire marks...
