i'd almost take that as a blessing in disguise. A classmate from ROTC ended up rolling one of those in the Corps and it was not a pretty sight. I wouldnt want mess with something like that personally. Atleast with a 5 ton properly done you can get probably double the fuel mileage over the Mk48
To add to this... I have some fiberglass seats on my A3 that are servicable, but one side as rotten wood on the top 2 rails (non load-bearing). I was going to replace these with some PVC pieces. I cant see anything negative with doing that, unless there's something im missing?

checked some grounds and did some minor misc. adjustments
mounted my antenna on the bed
mounted ls-671 speaker on dash
replaced 2...
post some photos of the radio if you can.
I have almost identical rust spots, mostly in the door jambs and in the bed, and little areas like fender seams and whatnot. No real bad cancer, thank God, shouldnt take but a weekend or 2 to hit it with a wire wheel and some rust-stop to get it ready...
no comment on the tires, but from what I've noticed on my Pineville truck, and what appears to be obvious signs of being in a flood i'll offer this:
Check the air dryer thoroughly, as well as CTIS manifold for issues... my manifold was doing funny things and causing **** until I disconnected...
