If it goes close to the floor with a hard pedal, it indicates that the brake shoes need to be adjusted closer to the drum....lucky you, only 25 adjustments per truck. If the pedal is spongy and hardens up with several applications it may be a bleeding issue.

Earliest of trucks had it as std equipment, then it became part of the Radio Installation Kits. Most of the dealers who have radio stuff will have the plug. Of course, it has different pigtail lengths depending on the application...such as in the M38 where the mount is behind...

Ya, put in a new cable and forget about it. Put a do not touch label on the shutdown to keep the big mitts of the breaker off it.
and of course you can use Dot 3, as that is what was in there in the original days of the M105. Will probably have the famous yellow sticker for Dot 5 if it is new or converted. Your sticker is to remind you not to use Tractor Hydraulic Fluid or Power Steering Fluid or other stuff like that...
