Crap... I forgot I had to modify that on mine also since it's been so long. I just trimmed mine down until it just fit inside the lip. However, I did purchase mine from another source...
AWESOME back yard hill billy engineering at it's finest!!! I LOVE it!!!:D
Now we just need to understand what transmission is behind that beautiful multi and how they have been joined in holy matrimony.
Reverse engineering is a must on this project.........

Right now I'm on stock rubber and I just stay off the highway. "Tanner" runs great and will pull hard to 2600. It seems happiest at between 2000 and 2400. 11.00-20's are in my future but more to get me to the 55-60 mark and the rpms lower. I have no need to go any...
Just because it can, doesn't mean it should..... Besides EGT's I'd be cautious of running at those RPM's.... Read any of the multiple stories on here of blocks that suddenly became ventilated. I'd refer to the TM's and make sure your govenor is set correctly if you can exceed max engine rpm...
I took mine out at the bottom of the "J". But that's where mine was different from my original. I put it on the truck, cut it till it fit, tacked it together and then removed it and finished welding it.
I purchased one last year and had the same issue. I had to cut it and shrink it. At first I managed to get it in with the use of four letter words and way too much time wasted, but I couldn't get the flange on the fender nor the hanger underneath aligned because of how long it was.
Man is that gunner tall....
Sorry, couldn't resist. It looks like my wife and I missed a great day. Let us know when you pick a date for the spring get together!!!!
Please get pictures or vid's..... My wife and I won't make it either as we had hoped. She loves putting rounds down range.... I hope to see you all in the spring. If you are ever up in York PA and see "Tanner" and me, feel free to introduce yourself!!!!!
Man, so close but yet so far away.... That's the weekend I was planning on pulling the front wheel on Tanner... It's been sitting for 2 weeks now. It was being driven weekly until the right front brake started intermittent grabbing under hard braking. I need to pull the wheel before going...
Neither are their owners.... Hey, I resemble that remark.
I'm sure they aren't, and at the RPM's they spin at the effects are probobly negligible.
True, but something made the designer choose the lower grade bolt. A bolted joint analysis could be done to figure torque vs clamp load on the O.E. bolt and the same at a grade 5 or grade 9. My gut tells me they weren't getting enough bolt stretch to maintain clamp load with higher grade bolts...
In my house these are called kids.....................
I also have had issues tripping lights in the Deuce and in my MGB-GT. Being lowered an inch it's definately not too high off the ground and it's not a weight thing either if you've ever pushed one....... :-)
I think it may have been a little noisy.......
Just like a good soldier, it got you where you needed to go.......
I hope you get back on the road soon!
My pyros are pre-turbo on the manifold runner. Mine must be a cool runner because 315 to 325 is second gear going through a parking lot. By the time I park, set the brake and chock the wheels I'm at 290.....
It looks like you are spending some quality time with your rig, they like that....
As for shut-down EGT's, personally I let mine get down to 285-290F before shutdown. It may be a difference in where our pyro's are tapped in; but if I used 325F as the bogey on mine I'd never need to let it idle...
I need the honest truth.... You just needed a reason to post that 1st picture didn't you?....:-D I showed that one to my son about a month ago when doing a google search on Deuce winch.
That's what mine are set at. It's on the data plate, stenciled above every tire on the fenders and bed, stenciled on my doors, even on two of the rims in white... TP-50 is written so many times on my truck it's usually the first question that is asked....
"What does TP-50 mean?"
This is...
