Just wanted to post a follow up. The check valves helped my hard starting trucks quiet a bit. Also, when you order 3 or more valves on the Tork site, the price drops down to 45 a pop.
Wound up putting a fifth wheel plate on my 925 for this exact reason. Lowering the air pressure in the rear tires with the CTIS disabled helps a ton for bobtailing.
Experienced an intermittent power loss, then two shutdowns with the truck today. At first, the truck felt like the pedal became disconnected from the throttle. No power. Coasted to the side of the road, and truck continued to idle. CEL, and engine shutdown were lit. Shut it down, then got out to...
Use reverse in low all the time, pushing trailers on and offroad, both in 6 and 4wd. I sometimes have shifted the truck between high and low a bit too fast as well. No breaks for me yet. I just don't romp on it needlessly.
Why is it so underrated? I regularly see 5tons flat towing other 939 trucks. Is there any documentation that approves a 5ton to tow more than 15K off the pintle? Have a bigger trailer I'd like to move but am worried about the liability.
Hah, I was afraid of that. Good to know thanks!
Just out of curiosity, how does the hook end of the wire rope terminate? Guessing its nothing reusable?
Stole the winch off a 936 for my LWB tractor last weekend. Just wondering if there is an easy way to thread the wire rope through the auto tensioner? Do I have to unspool the whole drum?
Would loosening this clevis nut help at all?
Thanks!
They are impossible to get ahold of. Ordered one from spider that worked well for about 20k miles but the bearings got sloppy. Decided to just buy a 22si somewhere else.
Camped outside the Grand Canyon park yesterday. Got there pretty late at night but managed to find a good spot.
Was worthwhile to skip a day of riding to check this place out. Awesome views, and a bucket list item.
Made it to New Mexico last night, and camped an hr. or so west...
