Yes this is the 32 spline NP205 from the turbo 400, the output shaft of the 700r4 is swaped for a 32 spline shaft, and the spacer converts the 4 bolt trans to the 6 bolt adapter.
Yes this is LofA's truck, he had someone do the rebuild and another shop do the installation, both did not really seam to know what they where doing. The shop that rebuilt the trans for him won't stand behind his work and fix it. He (LofA) is not very happy.
As you can see in pics, pan gasket cut, not sure why anyone would want to cut it, wires missing, no pressure switches, wires cut on solenoid for torque convertor lock-up, universal TV cables do not work, and the dipstick tube is out of a turbo 400. Also the magnet in the pan was missing, lots...
Have another Chevy M1008 project, transmission failed. This is Lawrence of Arabia M1008.
Many reasons that it failed. First it had the wrong dip stick so the trans was about 4-5 quarts to low on fluid. Second the pan gasket had to cuts in it, not sure why. Third it had the wrong "TV" cable...
Sorry I haven't got back to your questions, I have been swamped. As for the pics of the engine bay and the video, as of right now I can't since the truck is gone, but if I meet up with FSMO again, which I am sure I will, I will get the pic and some video.
As for the cable adjustment it is...
That is the best response, that is one of the many reasons I have opened my own auto repair shop. To many mechanics want to do the most expensive thing first before doing some simple diagnostic checks, and try a figure the problem out instead of throwing money at the problem.
The 700r4 is a 1/2 an inch longer, but the rubber bushing in the cross-member take up the additional length without having to drill new holes in the frame. The drive shafts remain the same length.
Installed a transmission drain plug, I don't know why the manufactures have never done this. It really irritates me, especially when I get covered in transmission fluid while training to remove the pan. I also installed the torque convertor lock up pressure solenoid, the pressure sensor, and...
The transmission is installed, the adapter is installed, transfer case installed, cross-member installed. linkages and wire hooked-up. TV cable bracket prep.
