I thought it was per S.A.L.T. (I II) agreements that we started cutting them up and leaving them out in the open so Soviet sattilites could confirm the disposal
As far as installing a spin on primary fuel filter, Heres what I did for less than $50.00.

Maybe I'm just getting senile but I don't remember there being a slinger, mine had a tiny nozzle that sprayed oil from the main oil galley onto the gears???
To ad to T's post
after installing the new seal and you go to remount the timing cover leave the timing cover bolts loose until after you reinstall the crankshaft pulley hub, this way the seal will align (center) itself better on the shaft, ( just don't forget to tightin cover bolts after your done)

Had a very very slight miss and puff of smoke at idle so I put new injector in #1 cyl than went down the line putting replaced injector in next cyl ( put old #1 injector into #2 cyl etc etc ) and found problem in #5 injector, runs better now.

Gillespie recommends either mineral spirits Naptha or Xylene and as Kenny stated if its hot out and your painting outside you may want to use Mineral spirits as it will dry slower than the other 2 solvents giving the paint a better chance to flow out. I myself use Naptha or if I'm using...
