You're more likely to get away with not having a CDL if it's registered historic or RV if you have a 109. My friend and I have both been pulled over in our historic registered deuces with regular class Cs and they didn't say anything. Still depends on the cop though. When it's historic it's...
They just updated the picture of my house and my deuce and my buddy's deuce are over where we're working on them. I'm sure I was out there at the time they took the picture. The quality of the picture isn't nearly as good as the last update.
I'm curious about this too. I just put some on the trucks I'm doing. The new rubber ones only lasted a few months before becoming totally dry rotted. All of these new ones are from Chinaaua I would much rather pay more for quality US made ones like the trucks come with. The ones that came on my...
Thanks! All the deuces out of GL really should be gone through before they hit the road, especially the brakes. I don't want to drive my M109A3 anymore until I do the same to it because of all the stuff they messed up on my A2. It looks okay from the outside but I still can't be sure.
It's not too hard. Took me a few days the first time I did it. Although this time took longer with doing all the bushings and waiting for parts to get here. The hardest and most time consuming part is the clean up if it hasn't been done recently. After you do it a few times you'll be able to do...
FINALLY DONE! Now to finish the other one. My M109A3 needs this too, but that's gonna happen in the summer. I'm about burned out on doing this for a while.
My buddy's front axle done and mine ready for assembly. That spring was a major PITA to get on. I like these new brake pads because they have a long weld bead at each end. I've seen in another thread how the wheel cylinder can break the weld and bend the top of the pad which causes the brakes to...
Pile of axles and spindles after getting the new bushings reamed. Improvised a press for the kingpin bushings:D New brake pads. All new nuts and lock washers for the studs on the knuckles. All the wheel cylinders had the plain ended springs which caused them all to leak a little and the master...
Been working the past few months on this project and took pictures along the way so I thought I'd post some up.
My buddy and I decided it's time to completely overhaul our brake systems. His turned out to be really bad. The soft lines all had cracking and the brake fluid that came out was...
Thanks.
The paint is nicer than both of my trucks. Right now I'm using it for storage while I redo the whole brake system and front axle seals on 2 M35A2s(a lot bigger undertaking than I anticipated). These type of 105 don't seem to be all that common.
Next year I plan pull it behind my M109A3...
I just registered mine here as historic. Spent probably 8-10 hours there all together working on it. I plan on going the RV route when I finish the conversion. There was a tread a while back in the mod/hot-rodding section about registering RV. Good luck and congrats on your first MV!
