To Bob or not To Bob?

Almost every MV i've owned came from a Fire Dept. Some modes i can understand, there are things that increase perfomnace and safety. I not a strict retsorer. But i've spent countless hours trying to figure out what some one was thinking when they did something to one of these trucks. The...

    Check your balencer

I drive mine 88 miles a day round trip. I have owned 6.2's for 18 years now. With many of them lasting more than 200K. They will torerate alot. But high RPM's just ain't something they can handle. Keep the oil changed and keep them slow and they will give you many years of service. No they were...

    Banks Sidewinder Turbo rebuild kit

Is there oil leaking into the exaust gas housing? Or the compressor housing? If not then no. It needs .015 of endplay on the nut holding the compressor wheel on. There is probally oil on the compressor side comming from the CDR valve as it is plumbed into the aircleaner box. So make sure that...

is it safe to pull a M348A2 with a deuce?

Correct me if i'm wrong, But isn't the M197 dolly intended for just this poropse? To pull this trailer behind the M44 series trucks. They even share the same wheels and tires. I have used my M197 dolly to pull my M127 with my M35. It is very important to make sure the trailer's axle has brakes...

    CUCV questions.

They can handle a turbo just fine. And can be made to prouce about 200HP. But you have to ask yourself. What kind of off roading will you be doing. If your just throwing your truck into mud holes then the 6.2 isn't a very good choice. You would need high RPM HP for that and the 6.2 doesen't like...

    lift pump and banks turbo

Im still using the mech pump also. If you decide t ouse it. Put grease on the pump push rod to hold it up in the bore while you install the pump. You have to remove the pump to install the turbo's oil return. You can remove the crossover pipe while working on the pump if you want more clerence.

    Trailer plug adapter

You can go to any trailer supply and get a trailer plug adaptor for a 86 chevy tuck. It is TEE shaped and plugs into the harness by the drivers side then original harness plugs into the other side of the TEE. At the bottom of the tee, the trailer wires and plug come out and will reach past the...

    Dist vacume advance.

We installed the new air filter saturday. Now you can hear air rushing into the carb when you push the throttle. It has a noticible increase in power. Not that it's fast or anything. But it sure has more seat of the pants acceleration. We replaced the 160 thermostat for a 180 two months ago. The...

    Dist vacume advance.

There are two metal lines comming from the dist to the air intake tube before the carb. Are both of these nessary for timing advance? Or just one? We are planning on installing a open air filter in the hopes of helping fuel milage. And keeping the orginal oilbath filter for shows and parades. So...

    Banks Turbo Install Question

Get yourself some header wrap to insulate the lower rad hose from the exaust. The banks kit has a cheesey heat sheld. But You will melt the lower hose. I wrapped the crossover pipe with the header wrap. Then installed the heat shield over that. My lower hose problems went away. And yes you can...

    M1028 Sm465-NP205 swap,

Google Dennys driveshafts. They carry alot of NP205 parts. I swapped my 1008 back in 1997. It is used only offroad and really makes a difference in low speed hauling in the woods. You won't regret the swap!

    Gaskets

It's not hard at all. Any auto parts store can get what you need. Just tell them you have a blazer with a "J" series diesel. And your year model. You won't however have to remove the water pump or crossover to replace the IP. You can acess the drive gear bolts through the oil filler hole in the...
