Star from what I understand talking to WIX several times is that there is no bypass valve as you suggested above. They are referring to a bypass filter that is built into the filter that allows increased filtration of a small percentage of the oil. This is the reason for the more then double...
I know UPS equipped all of their Cummins delivery trucks with starter/prelubers. My friend used to work at a Cummins repair location as a mechanic, and they were on everything. It was a basically a starter with a preluber on the back side of them. I think he might have said that they stopped...
Lowes and Home Depot sell fairly cheap heat guns in the paint section. If you don't want to try that then give a hair dryer a try to see if it does anything for you.
A trick I have used in the past with some types of undercoating is to freeze it with compressed gasses. This way it get very brittle and can be chipped right off. If I remember correctly this was most effective with undercoating that was still somewhat soft.
Yup that is a standard fuel filter that NAPA carries. Should be filter FIL3136. It worked just fine on my M1009.

If you are worried about this then don't forget to address the sharp edges on the bow pockets on the headboard, and the nuts that stick out at the same location. I ended up using a file to round off the edges on the pockets. On the nut I used those vinyl pipe caps. I had to shorten it down...
I don't know. I think all that plastic and glass makes it look breakable. Brings back nightmares of wimpy painted plastic bumpers that force major paint work and replacement of the bumper if you run a grocery cart into it.
I was told recently that some versions of the 900 series trucks did not require EUC while others did. It just depended on what version, and what it was used for. I remember there were some that came out of Norfolk, Va. that were like that earlier this year. Perhaps this it is the same for...
I am really looking for low cost used ones. I have already contacted some of the bigger companies, and their prices for used bolts are what I would expect to pay for new ones. I guess I should put up a classified add. If anyone has any sitting around I would be interested.
Does anyone know of any companies that are selling multifuel oil filter bolts new or used? Preferably used. I have not been able to find anyone that is carrying them. Anyone have a stash of them?
Perfect timing on the manual preluber. I used my friends remote motorcycle fuel tank to fill the oil cans as much as possible. My M35 had been sitting since Aberdeen with part of that time having the filters removed. I had the hose hooked up to the valve I installed in the oil filter drain...
Well I am up to about 150 miles with these filters on the truck with no leaks that I can find. I am not noticing any pressure drop at all. That is no surprise to me as my adapter basically just improves on the original design. Also the original 1133 filters are capable of 11-13gpm of flow each...
devilman pointed out a commercial preluber in one of these threads. It looked like good quality. There are also quality prelubers on ebay on occasions. That like the one on the first page of this thread are built on a starter type motor with a quality pump. I have not seen them for several...
We all know that there are lots of prelube systems out there. This is an example of an automotive one that would not be appropriate for duece usage. If for no other reason that is almost defiantly 12V. The controller would be toast very quickly. It is probably too small too. The seller did...
Are you stuck where shipping a tranny down to you might be worth the time? I have to check it out, but I may have a spare tranny that was supposedly was pulled from a working truck.
