It seams that most in the past have suggested installing a pyro before turning up the IP. I am sure many just go small though to avoid the trouble. I am going to do both in the future.
Re: RE: Anyone in the DC area...
Nope not even a chance. This is not terrorism or a little bit of terrorism. This is vandalism period. Don't let some of the juvenile people in our police that have tried to call everything terrorism gain any legitimacy. If some of those wackos got their way...
I would fix or plug the flame heater. Then sell the ether kit on ebay or here. Finally buy a bottle of ether to keep just in case. You can reach out the passenger front window and just give it a whiff while cranking if you need it. You just made $100+ for other parts.
Re: VA 5 ton
I believe that it is two entirely different things for someone to post because they feel like it since they are not bidding on it vs. people giving a heads up on a damaged or misrepresented vehicle. I am very much against the first, and for the later. This vehicle was not pretty...
You are right his site needs some work on the linking. I had to sift through all the "new products" to find them.

OD Iron has the reflectors, and if they are like other things from him they should be the good stuff too. I plan to order a set with my next order too.
RE: M105
There is also a aluminum framed and sided box that fits the M105. My M105 was originally had a sewing machine setup with one of these boxes on it. For some reason they separated the trailer and the box when they went for sale, and I never saw the boxes come up for auction. Some...
RE: Anyone up at Chambersburg, Pa. this week?
Oops I screwed up I am actually hoping some one will be up at Mechanicsburg, Pa. Now that you mention the M105s though I may have to take a look at those.
These type of trucks are very easy to work on, but the military versions have an electrical design that makes it rather confusing as they have a 12v/24v system. The parts are very cheap and easily obtained except for some military specific parts that can be problems. It really comes down to...
Is anyone going to be up at Chambersburg, Pa. this week? If anyone is I would like to have something inspected that is in this upcoming auction. Please PM me. Also if anyone is going to be visiting any sites in New Jersey I would be interested in hearing from you.
For the amount you will pay for a electrical box for the back of the M35 you most likely buy a M109 deuce that already has the box. The electrical boxes are currently going very high, and the M109s are going a bit cheaper then the M35 these days. I don't know how much shows up in Ca. though.
I won a deuce starter at Cherry Point, NC 28533 that I am waiting for the EUC to clear on. I was hoping that someone might be heading over there soon that might be able to pick it up and hold it for me.
RE: pre lube
The large plug centered between the two cans is the plug that the bypass valve for the filters is mounted in. It can't be used for a plug unless you do something else with the the bypass valve. That plug holds a spring and plunger that makes up the valve.
I need to take some...
I picked up a few of those gray Army running shirts just for this purpose at questionable locations. Also driving something green when checking vehicles out usually puts people at ease.
RE: pre lube
Page four of this thread in the red box. That port is the one you use to drian oil when you change the oil. It feeds oil upstream of the filters, so the oil has to get filtered before it goes forward.
Always happy to give a fellow Steelsoldier member a hard time :D
The safety chains on the M105 are probably going to be too short with the extra length of your adapter. They do make raised pintle hitch mounts like these that I used...
RE: Wreckerman
That looks a little scary to me. I am glad you live in Alabama, so I don't have to worry about you coming around the corner on the back roads says the man who towed a M105 home with the Volvo station wagon :driver: I personaly would have gotten a pintle hitch for your vehicle...
Hey you never know when that deer will jump out in the road in front of you. It is either you or the deer, and I would feel safer if I could take it and its family out before it tried to play chicken with my car. Besides it is armed with antlers, so I am just evening up the odds.
