Chinookpilot, don't wait too long. The rumor is that ALL of the deuces are to be out of DRMO by October of this year. I would suggest that you go ahead and buy one at a GL auction and have one of the fine people here to pick it up and store it for you. Since you are in Enterprise, AL, get one...
I would try grinding the heads off the rivets and then drilling about half way through the center. A punch inserted in the hole and a BFH should take them out easily.
The worst part (aside from damaging the trucks during unloading:evil:) is that Redstone doesn't even know which trucks they have received and which they haven't! I am going to call back today to see if they know if my trucks are on the lot so I can view them.
While it could work, it could also break loose some of the lead and cause them to short out the plates. But if the battery is no good, it couldn't hurt.
BTW, remember to ONLY use distilled water in batteries.
It looks great. I did an install and ended up having to pull the PTO off and put a thicker gasket in because the gear lash was so tight I couldn't shift properly. It is a bug getting the gear lube into the tranny.
I spent 20 minutes on a bench grinder with a wire brush wheel and cleaned...

Jeez, I just got off the phone with the GL person in Redstone and they don't even have an on site inventory! They can't tell me if the trucks I won are even on base or not! How hard is it to have a freaking inventory?
And THAT is my central complaint. If you have the money and want to get pre-approved, more power to you.
I saw one auction last year where a guy bid up the price on DOZENS of trucks and was the high bidder on many of them. A couple of months later, those very same trucks were BACK up for...
Hey, that is all I am asking. But there are a few who I believe abuse the system. As far as I can tell, the two or three people who bid them up from $300 to $850 DIDN'T WIN A SINGLE TRUCK. They ended up screwing themselves and everyone else out of the chance to get a good deal.
If you really...
Well, I wrote my representative and senators and asked them to look into the way that Government Liquidation allows their bidding. I find it hard to believe that the guy who bid $850 on 240 trucks has a credit card with a $204,000 limit. I asked them to look into it to see if GL is allowing...
