The 800 series 5tons have the heater comming in from the passerger side. The new cab i swapped onto my M52 has one of these. I'm planning on using a heater for a M35 and bring it in on the drivers side. So i can set the heat exchanger on tha big flat spot on the inside fender well. But seeing it...
I'd also check the pinion bearings. Check them for radial movement. If you can move them they are shot. I've had to replace a lot of these it the fire trucks. Espacilly if you have a sprag t-case.
You can try venting it and see it that helps. Mine is plugged off also. I have a frend who put a windshield washer bottle on the back of his M54 cab and ran the tube to his master vent. So he can check the level by just looking behind the seat.
I have a lube order that says 600 hours. But i NEVER go more than 200 hours. Uncle sam has plenty of spare engines, i don't. I run mine in the woods alot so i can't go by mileage.
Sorry about that. He has them for the M54. But only the front harness. It was the same harness for my M52. I got my complete harness for my M35 from saturn.
Steve that vent goes to the crankcase vent tube on the passenger side of the engine. There is a coulpe of ports on this tube. It's unessary unless you have the deepwater fording kit. It then keeps water out of the airpack/master.
Holy crap i thought lance was back for a minute there. OPCOM, I use a block heater on a 25 year old iszuz diesel that i can't get glow plugs for. 100 deg coolant temp starts it pretty easy. Does it get that cold in dallas?
I have the same set on mine. I cut the legs 13inches to get the cover to fit right. I like the metal bows much better but. There isn't anyway to stow them.
My advise, Have a lot of clean rags handy. Your about to make a big mess! My oil filters allways leave some still in the can. So when i break the bolt loose it always runs down the side of the engine. As for the fuel filters. There is a bleeder valve at the top of the filter housing for the 2nd...
Sorry barman. That wasen't me on the phone. And yep thats a FS top on your M715 all right. Let me know what you need. I may have some stuff in my pile you can use.
Yep the other windshield frame will fit they are the same. The top looks like a forrestery service top. I've seen alot of thes tops in east texas on forrestery service trucks. Alot of M715's got the ugly FS tops too.
Everything you need is allready there. Just use the flame heater for cold starting. Remove it and plug the hole in the intake. Then weld a fitting with the same threads above the elbow in the exaust. If you put it before the elbow the extra heat will probally burn through at the bend. Then...
How high is the fithwheel from the ground? The M127 is 49 inches to sit level. When will you go get it? Congrats on the trailor. Mabye that 8500 guy is on SS and figured he would let one slide after reading all the remarks.
Do you have a bearing suppys near by? I buy all of my bearings/seal from a bearing house. It's about half of what i was paying at a autoparts. I found my recept for these seals and i paid $4.30 apiece.
