A Canadian M-37 (CDN)
They come with the bigger (251ci) engine and fully syncro'd ( Acme) tranny, where as the American M-37 has the 230ci and a tranny that only syncro'd in 3 & 4th gear.
If memory serves me right they made less the 5000 of these (Canadian ) 37's

You can use the NAPA airfilter ( I ran one for several years in my first deuce ) but as mentioned it does not have the cfm rating as the stock element. You can see the difference in the picture ( NAPA filter is shown on the left )
I used a 1 1/4" squared shoulder O-ring that I got in the plumbing section at the hardware store. I soaked it in silicone for 3 months and it was fine so I used it being I did not like the way a regular ( round) o-ring fit on the cap., Its been several months now and no leaks.
Its a neophreme...
I made up some patch panels for my deuce, not as nice/detailed as gringels but it worked for me

My 71 M-35A2 (C) had a Schwitzer on it as did a friend of mine have one on his also (D), I was told ( second hand ) they were stock on the D model LDT 465 engines, I just don't remember it looking that big

If you have the heavy matting of it on the bottom of your tank you have to drain and clean the tank, a simple garden hose will work...
I shot my deuce with a 2qt remote spraygun from Northern Tool ( $75 ), Now just recently I painted my daughters VW with Automotive acrylic enamel and a $25 ( on sale ) gravity feed from HF, I was happy as heck with the results.
Very old Rings are known to break when removed ( uncompressed ) If you haven't already, check the ring grooves/lands in the pistons for excessive wear being these engines are top end starved for lubrication they get alot of wear. Do you have Egge Machine.com listed for engine parts? Egge Machine...

Ipe wood is also a great wood for troop seats, its just as strong/durable as white oak and it costs less ( at least it did back when I did my m-37 troop seats
Looks like your missing ( factory installed) engine lifting plate that mounts on the head near the oil filter,makes going back in/out easier being its mounted right on the center gravity of the engine
