There are a few features that help this engine run on a mutltiude of fuels. First it has a fuel density compensator on the injection pump. It's main job is to adjust the rate of fuel entering the injection lines. When you have a thicker fuel it allows less fuel in. When you have a thinner fuel...
The pryo is the most important!. Since your fuel rate has been reset, the exaust gas temp is a need to know. Espacilly if your are driving on hilly roads, loaded or not.
Santa, How much of a milage increase do you expect? How much is propane a gallon up there? I would think proppane would be a great starting aid in cold weather.
Jwaller, I don't think it will fit on the M35. The 5ton air filter is outside on the fender. That's not to say you couldn't use it with some longer hose. The 21/2 ton kit also uses the exaust to hold the snorkle. The 5 ton has it's own stand.
I gave my wife the prints to take to work and scan...
Kenny, Yea i've got those 3 rods. And the top still sagged so bad i thought it was going to tear. The rain gage at the fire station said we got 33 inches of rain that night. I had the truck in water up to the hood for hours on the beltway getting people out. The rag tops are cooler and they...
Sorry, Lax. I wasen't very clear about the regulator routing. The regulator is used to provide positive pressure to the bellhousing. This keeps water out of the clutch. It's set at 4 PSI. I don't know where you could get one, but i think a propane regulator will do. They are set at 7PSI. The kit...
You'll need to run a hose from the aircompressor intake to the fitting on the air filter canaster. You could probally use a regulator for a propane tank. They are set a 7PSI.
Use a flapper valve like the one for the air shift t-case. Just run air to your valve then to the regulator. Then to...
Santa, I wouldn't run propane pre turbo. Propane works well for freon. The tips of the compressor wheel are intended to run hot. When they are cooled in a propane mist they have a tendency to crack and come off, locking up the compressor wheel. Compressor wheel explosions arn't pretty. I'll try...
Lax, There is a regulator valve that takes pressurised air from the air for the brakes. It goes into the bellhousing to keep water out of the clutch. It's set to keep the bellhousing at 4 PSI.
Your right. But i already have the other components. I've been looking for the outside stuff for a long time now. I got the other stuff NOS a few years back. I already have one on my M35 and they work great for hurricanes. I've had it in water just over the hood on the freeway durning tropical...
I personally try to say off of the Interstates as much as possable. Not that the truck can't do it. It's the cars doing 80 or 90 MPH. I've come colse to being rearended a few times. I sudjest running about 1800 to 2000 RPM's untill you make it to your cousins place. Give it a chance to prove...
Do you have a hyd hose place near by? They can cut the hose off of the barb and use a new sleeve. That way you can reuse your fitting with the new hose.
Are you having to run on dino now? How did the fouled injectors look? Was is coked? Or some type of fatty deposits? Did you get any pics that you can post when home? Good luck and god speed!!
