I don't think so. Unless you have a different IP than i do. 3 deg is a pretty big jump for the 6.2. The cold weather high idle only keeps the engine at 900 rpm's untill enought heat is built up for smooth operation. It aslo comes on when the AC is turned on in vehicles with a auto tranny. I...
I finally burned through the drivers side tank of bio. I got 16.1MPG. That's about 4MPG loss. The engine runs smoother now. I think that the bio probally cleaned the injectors. I still have a tank full on the pass side and i'll run the numbers also. The banks could only pull 8 lbs of boost at...
Rizzo, As far as the banks goes I'm happy with it's performance. But working on it is a different story. They paid no attention to detail! They didn't chamfer the bolt holes. So you have to line everything up perfect to assemble it. Parts were not deburred and flashing was left on the castings...
I went down to houston biodiesel on fri and filled my truck with 37 gallons of B99. I've driven 170 miles so far and used about half of the drivers side tank. I changed both fuel filters before i went. I've noticed a drop in power when getting on the freeway. Cold starts are i little tougher...
Backing it up is no big deal. It is easier than you think. Just put the tailgate down so you can see it start to turn. If you try to use the mirrors you can not tell it is turning untill it is too late and you will have to pull up and start again.
Will,
Lance tried it about a year and a half ago. It turns out a few if the splines are not the same. The kit from saturn is for the control at the fron out put shaft. I swapped to whole case in mine for the air shift. It made a big difference in pavement driveability. I also installed...
I think bjorn's right, they were only intended to get wet for a short period of time. I had to keep it under water for hours doing deep water rescues. The water was about hood deep on the freeway and we were picking up people standing on the roof of thier cars. The turbo and exaust was under...
I've forded with my truck many times. Espacilly when it belonged to the FD. I've had in water over the hood a few times with no problems. But the generator will quit after about a hour under water. It's funny to see the temp guage slam to the left when it hits the water. The fan is pretty tough...
I run the red top optima's. I installed them in 1999. They still work every time. I just replaced the cables a couple of months ago along with a NATO slave. The only other time iv'e even looked at them was to put them in a dead truck to get it started. 744's right. They may cost more but in the...
I've got a few of those tires with the "V's" in the lugs. I can't tell if the work better than the others, since they are placed next to them. I do know that ND's are almost USELESS in the mud!!!. The tire chains i got make all the difference. I can go through mudholes without locking the hubs...
1075, I'd love too but the truck has a knocking rod. I can't wait to get it going and go for a spin. I got the trailor for $300. And even the all the lights worked. It also came with the stake sides.
I got home about 5:30 yesterday and i grabbed my laser gun.
Outside temp was 82deg. The M35 was in the shade all day. I opened the cap and pulled the strainer. I got a temp of 78deg. There is about 30 gallons of 70% diesel and 30% used motor oil in the tank.
The M52 was in the sun all...
Bjorn, It gets well over 100deg F here in the summer. I know it takes hours to warm the tank because the tank will sweat from the moisture in the air as it gets next to the cool tank. In the afternoon it shouldn't have a problem getting above 100deg. I can use my heat gun and run a few tests for...
Usally when the pump gets dirty or clogged the load will increase and blow the fuse. I would pull the pump and clean the pickup screen with carb cleaner . Also clean out the voulte housing and impeller. Some have phillips head screws so you can pull the screens off, but some are rivited. Did you...
