Our fire trucks have small chains on the air tank valves. You can stand next to the truck and pull the chain to drain the water. When you let the chain go the valve will close.
Hummm no purple wire? Mabye it's wrapped up in that black corragated wiring wrap. Both trucks i had, had this wire. I'll look at D-RAT's cucv and see if i can find his.
Mabye the truck had engine problems. And when they ordered a new one a N/A engine showed up in the box. There is no telling what could have happened. I've seen a sprag t-case in a 1978 truck. To get up to par on thier units combat readiness, they will do just about anything.
I like the hard top much better. After tropical storm allison i decided the soft top wasen't going to cut it. I still remove the top when it's hot. And it's faster to remove and relplace than the soft top. If you do any off roading tree limbs can tear holes in the soft top. Although when off...
There should be a purple wire with a black female plug on the end. This wire should be where the wiring harness splits between the tail lights. The same tail light harness was used on the civi GM pickup trucks. This purple wire is intended for the license plate lamp. Try looking at the drivers...
I installed a muffler in 2001. I can still hear the wistle from the turbo. I don't believe i lost any power. I used a flow through type. And now that i have a hard top, the loudest part of the whole truck is the cooling fan.
Randy, Drums are a pain to keep still when banging around off road. They work great for road trips though. Your rear loves having to get out to refuel.
Drat replaced his spare tire carrier with another tank turned around backwards. Then he ran a transfer line under the bottom. The lift pump still pulls from the pass side and the transfer line replaces the fuel as he goes. I think on his last trip he got 11 mpg. At 100 gallons that can take you...
Kenny, My c turbo sings through the muffler. I'm sure you heard brent's though. His is much quieter. I'm glad the muffler didn't kill the wistle. The truck wouldn't be the same with out it!
Scoob. You are correct in that exaust gas moving will turn the turbine blades. But the gas movement alone will not provide enough power to build pressure on the compressor side. Thermodynamics provide the power to rotate the rotor at the speeds needed to give you a power increase. Thats why...
Lee, It was Lance that tried to convert his sprag to airshift. I can't rember why, but he said too many parts were different. I believe he ended up swapping the whole t-case out. Jason, i swapped to a airshift and i'm very happy with it. In the mean time i would put the truck in 1st gear...
If you made a trip to howard's, I think you could do it cheep. D-RAT brought me fenders for $30, Hood #25, bumper $20. I could go on for a while. In the front view, what is that line hanging below the bumper? Fuel line? In it's current state, I think $5500 is a little steep. I don't know what...
