I am going to install one after I get the brakes and wheel seals done for the reasons gimpyrobb stated. As far as buying cheap-o anything, I look at it this way. What could be the worst possible moment for an item to fail. say 20 miles from home at night in a pouring rain storm it's 35deg out...
Here is your basic 3 stone wheel cylinder hone.
KD Tools 2544 - 3 Stone Brake Cylinder Hone 13/16in. to 2-3/4in.
You can pick one up at most auto parts store.
I am in the process of doing the the bearings, seals, king pin bushings, brakes and boots on the front of my deuce. Installing the ODIron non-zipper boots. We'll see how long they last.
Also when you fill out the EUC when you move to a particular box to fill it in a small info box will open with the correct selections that you should use. This is a perfect time to remember K.I.S.. I try to use "Not Applicable" when ever I can.
Thanks for the info. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. But it is the gooberment. I wonder how they get away with that. I don't see, legally, what the difference is between the temp and regular tag. Both indicate that the vehicle was registered in the state of issue. I wonder what would...
I would think that any state would have to honor a tag from any other state, be it temp or not. Now I know some states don't issue a transport tag, sometimes called a temp tag.
I was under the impression that the return was to the "day tank" until the "float switch" opened and then it would run on the "day tank" until the "float switch" closed and then it would run on the "aux" feed again.
Well there is always a precedent to follow. The military thought hydraulic hose was a good idea. That's what was on my MEP-018A when I picked it up at Mechanicsburg.
And that's exactly what went bad. The magnet that was held by adhesive in the cup on the bottom of the motor came loose so although the motor ran like a champ the magnet just laid there in the bottom of the motor housing.
Welcome to the wonderful world of deuces.
