This is what I don't understand. You shouldn't need another battery as amps power speakers.
Preamp
Boosts a weaker signal to line level, and provides volume and gain control. Preamps can also include tone controls and filters. They are designed to enhance softer sounds without adding extra...
Those two Skar Amps will require a total of about 200 AMPS of current.
If you're going to add another battery consider two banks of the 12 volt batteries in series on a battery switch. You can run off either bank or both, also gives you a kill switch for the rig.
I meant to say 24V to 12V step down converter not inverter. You should be able to run the the 12V speakers directly off the converter provided the amperage is sufficient. Converters are sold in a variety of amps. What's the total amperage of your 12V circuit?
The other was shipped with 100, I'll drop them to 75. At most I'll haul 2 tons because that's all my license will allow, Class D in Massachusetts has a max of 26000 lbs total hauled or towed...so in effect I own a 5 Ton Deuce and a half ;)
Topped off my tires, for some reason one of the new ones was shipped with only 40 psi. Brought them both up to 100 psi...OK it took a few days because I didn't want to melt my 30 gallon Briggs and Stratton.
Now I'm chasing air leaks in my fuel lines, still can't get her over 1500 RPM
Machined a new backplate for the old shutoff valve to replace the solenoid completely. Also replaced a couple O-rings.
Using the compressed air in the fuel tank method I got her to start and run. Put my tank vent pipes back together and she started right up without the compressed air.
Now the...
Rigged a Schrader valve into the fuel tank vent pipe, my pipe has been patched so much it was no big deal. Used a battery powered compressor to push fuel up to the lift pump. No danger of over pressurizing the tank, air leaks out almost as fast as I can pump it in.
The engine sputters but...
Can the cold start pump on the dash be used to prime the lift pump? One of the 5-ton gang on Facebook thinks it can...time to check the TM's
Damn, forgot the cold start pump draws from the lift pump.
I gutted the old fuel shutoff solenoid on my M813 to turn it into a full manual valve and now the engine won't start.
Figure I've lost prime in the lift pump as this is the first time I've had the shutoff valve side of the fuel circuit disconnected. When I had the supply side off for...
Using the common body ground, the new one has no reading at any setting. At the 2M setting on my multimeter my ohm reading on the old solenoid is all over the place on either pin or the body.
Multi-tested the fuel shutoff solenoid and I do have 24V going to it.
Taking it apart there was no sign of fuel in the manual shutoff valve while the diaphragm seat was wet with fuel indicating the pump's working but the solenoid isn't opening. Bench tested the solenoid and confirmed 24v but...
Installed the new fuel shutoff, long story short, doesn't work.
The new solenoid is a little different than the old model. The old style diaphragm is in both the old and new solenoid, however in the new model it fits into another diaphragm that rides in a machined spacer. Not sure why...
Installed a STARK Crane with Cable Winch in the cargo bed primarily to raise and lower the spare tire...NOTE TO SELF: KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE CRANK HANDLE WHEN LOWERING
Unit consists of an 1100lb boom with boat winch and a 3 ton hydraulic jack. The combination winch and jack sold me. The price...
Took the fuel shutoff solenoid apart and I'm not sure what I'm looking at.
Was expecting a spring, what I have is something akin to a wave washer enacting upon a diaphragm?
I assume when the electromagnet is activated the wave washer/spring is pulled flat allowing fuel pressure to move the...
Took a hammer to the solenoid and got the engine to shut off electrically, but now the engine is hard to start and runs rough. Figure the valve is only partially open now. Also noticed a leak in the manual shutoff. Found the TM to remove the solenoid and manual valve but can't find anything on...
Changed the oil and now the engine won't shut off "normally" that is.
I either have to use the emergency shutoff valve or repeatedly turn the battery switch on and off.
It's not a runaway, it's idling at 500RPM with no hesitation in the throttle.
It's just that the ignition switch, battery...
