Sounds like a modified electrical system.
A stock system operating properly will not cycle the glow plugs when engine is warm.
The GP temp sensor will tell the GP card not to activate them.
No wait light illumination either.
Has the wiring been modified?
Are you giving it any throttle...
The TM would have been the first place I would have looked.
In the time it took to post the question here, the answer could have found in the TM.
Of course we all are here to help, but guys also need to do their due diligence.
Welcome to Steel Soldiers.
Sounds like your way ahead of the power curve.
Always better to be prepared with a generator than without.
Especially in Florida.
Pics are are always welcome.
Yes, now I remember.
Agree a huge pain to wire that light.
Not worth the effort.
For those who want to remain tactical, LED lighting doesn’t show up very well with night vision equipment (NVGs).
I fly with a set of ANVIS 9 NVGs and sometimes those towers with led lighting are hard to see.
I thought the same thing until I had it apart one day.
Hardest part was finding a light socket.
The one I used works great. Nice and tight
But still unclear if it’s the “officially” correct GM part number.
It’s working perfect.
A regular 194 bulb would get really hot in such a confined...
Military didn’t order them for a cost issue most likely.
Maybe a tactical or parts stocking reason also.
I just wired it into the power supply for my engine/trans gauges.
About 15” of 18ga wire.
Super easy.
The LED bulb draws almost nothing.
If you rotate the headlight switch all the way...
Installed a transfer case shift indicator light.
The ACDELCO bulb socket worked great
A Philips 194 LED bulb will not get hot in the tight space and puts out plenty of light
More than enough to see the selector and isn’t distracting at night.
The CUCVs didn’t come from factory with the...
Get some ACF50 or other corrosion stopping/prevention spray and a extended spray tube.
Soak everything you can in between the roof layers to stop the rust.
ACF50 creeps really well and last about two years between treatments.
Your getting there.
Tackle one issue at a time.
Sounds like a short somewhere in your headlight harness.
NOS OEM ones are available on eBay if needed.
It’s all frustrating I know, but once you get all the issues worked out, the M1009 will be very reliable.
Buy the best parts you can...
Great reference pics.
The SUV looks tiny next to the M105
Yes the M1101/2 is a decent size trailer but completely doable with a pickup or suv.
I personally pefer the M101A2/3s over the M1101/2s.
But that’s personal preference and another thread.
You are talking about two completely different animals.
Unless you have the proper military truck, stay with the the M1101/2.
Sure the M105s are cheap.
There’s a reason for that.
They are a big, wide, heavy trailer that sits high and you will most likely never be able to have it sit...
For whatever reason, the correct replacement brake levers are impossible to find.
I can find everything else but the brake levers.
Lots for sale online claiming to fit, but they are the wrong ones.
Last time I looked anyway.
If you score some off a trailer being salvaged then...
Get two Optima Red Tops and a solar charger and be done with it.
I have had excellent results with all my Optimas
Don’t go cheap on battery’s.
Especially if it’s for emergency home power.
You do get what you pay for.
Running the generator once a week for an hour (+-) will keep everything...
Dexter and Redline both still carry the wheel brake cylinders.
Bearings, seals, brake parts, etc.
Croft Trailer carries all the factory parts for the surge brake assembly. HydroAct
Including the correct master cylinder.
It’s a simple system and easy to get going again.
Works wonderful and...
The front has the felt liners, the rear does not.
Didn’t want them.
The truck is super quiet inside and out.
My 2006 GMC 2500HD Diesel was much louder.
It was a trade in for this new one.
The splash guards and B&W gooseneck hitch get installed Tuesday.
It’s my first dually and it drives...
I’ve had this about two weeks now.
2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD High Country.
Duramax/Allison
Lots of bells and whistles.
I’m still driving my M1008A1 more than this new one.
