The rules say no frivolous auction posting of any vehilces that can be found using a search engine on your favorite surplus website, rare or not. It also says use your common sense. It also says, don't post it if you wouldn't post it while bidding on it.
I'm locking this thread up. Good...
Bill, it is 204" long, 112" wide, and 119" tall. It weighs in around 37k lbs empty, give or take. It's powered by a 6 cylinder AO-500-4 Continental gasser and is run with a CD-500-4 cross-drive tranny. Some were built by FMC just down the road from where I grew up in WV. Looks like it has...
RE: truck
That's a matter of opinion, jwalller. I have owned both and prefer the M939 series. There are not very many out there on GL and probably never will be. A lot of the ones that have been coming out lately have been picked apart before being released.
The 934 on White Owl used to be...
PS, where's Kenny? I thought you were monitoring all channels 24hrs a day until we all made it to Aberdeen?!
HA! Thanks for keeping an eye on us brother :D
Thanks Ken! I'll try not to embarrass too many mustangs and corvettes on the way there today. We' made it up before the chickens this morning. Just a few things to throw in the truck, need to build some air pressure to release the brakes, and we are off!!
Craig, drive safe in that big...
Chad and I just finished checking tires, fluids, etc... on the Kubu 925A2. We got all of our gear stashed in the back. We are bringing a pop-up shelter along with rain gear :( We plan on leaving here at 0600 to meet up with the rest of the Yellow Serial at Doswell. Hopefully we won't need to...
Tailgates are different. I doubt any dealers will be carrying heavy stuff like that along for the trip. I would call someone quick and ask that they bring one for you. I know John Winslow has some drop-side deuce beds around and he's not leaving until tomorrow around 1-2 PM. His number is...
It's not a deuce so I moved this topic to the 5-ton forum.
Compared to what you would pay for one on GL, it may seem pricey, but if someone wanted a good title, good paint, a good runner, and a trailer to boot, then it might be a good buy.
I am looking for 2 or 3 939-series super-single rims with or without 14R20 tires. I am also looking for good used 14R20 tires, 60% or better tread. If anyone has any they can deliver to Aberdeen, please PM me before Wednesday night. Thanks.
I say if that is the truck you want and it will be fixed up real nice for you, then go for it. If your business does well, then you could always get an 819 later on if you needed more power and/or road speed. Keep us posted and yes, you must post pics of the truck when you get it!
Dang, that is a long drive for me! I would love to be there to see y'all take the plunge. Best of luck to both of you! Are you leaving the church in the 813A1?
$2000 would be a great price. I paid $1000 for one that was basically a bunch of crusty parts in a box with no engine or tranny. If it is complete and used to run, you should be good to go.
I was actually looking into this a while back, Macon. I found a crew-cab IH that I was going to put 5-ton axles under and use it as the ultimate family/MV hauler. It was really cheap, but it had a 5th wheel hitch, a service crane, and a wheel lift tow unit! It would have been a great service...
Phew, that is sickening. I hate to hear about your misfortune. Your plan sounds like a pretty good start. You definitely want to get the water out as quickly as possible before everything starts to rust up. I'm sure the water was full of silt and sand and that stuff will wreck havoc on your...
Glad you bumped this thread, David! I am getting excited for the trip. I was pretty bummed when I sold my 818 because I wasn't sure I would have a vehicle ready in time for the ECC and the show. I don't have one ready, but my buddy, bkubu, does and it need to be driven from NC to MD. Perfect...
