    tatra 813 new owner

This thread is fun. Thanks No.2 for getting me sucked into Pinz-tac-toe! Someone needs to come up with a tic-tac-deuce or maybe a duck-duck-deuce!

    m818 battery and heater question

There is a battery diagram on the bottom of the battery box cover, well at least there should be ;) I'll copy it out of my manual and post it here just in case. The top terminals on the 6TL's should be the same size as any jumper wire you get at a auto parts place. I made a jumper for my...

    My first 5 ton

Congrats on the 813! Big trucks are a sickness for me too. I took my 818 to pick up our Christmas tree this afternoon :)

    m818 battery and heater question

You can still find 6TL's. I have seen refurbished or blems go as cheap as $70-80 a piece. Lot's of guys on here run civi batteries instead. Just be careful if you go changing the battery wires around so you are only running 2 bulldozer batts. There is a 12v tap on there that goes to the...

    20" beadlock runflat inserts

Hmmm, those look fun to wrestle. No first-hand knowledge here though. I looked on the Hutchinson Website, but they didn't list any specs of anything.

updated pics of my hemtt restoration

Great pics of your progress, Damon. Some folks would have been content with a quick scuff and repaint, but you are definitely taking it to the next level! Keep up the good work! I can't wait for you to post some vids with that big ol' 8v92 roaring.

    250 Cummins Engine

I know you can use a Barring Tool to turn over a Cummins B and C series, but I'm not sure about the 855. Will?

My regular ride from Newbie Kroctec

Hi David. I fixed your link for you. That is a great 1450 DOKA! I would love to use that as my daily driver. Welcome to Steel Soldiers. We need some more Moggers here! I used to drive a 404 all the time, but I am currently Mog-less.

    I Hate Captured Nuts!

Good tip Gringel! I do the same. Rusty 1980's CUCV nuts do the same thing. I snapped off three nuts inside the fender of my 1009. I just MIG'd some new ones in place and called it good. Since the nut tore the sheetmetal around the original mount, I welded a washer that was wider than the...

Videos & Photos of rebuilding transmission

Man, this is a great read! I don't even have a early deuce, but it's great having access to this information in case I ever do. Thanks Steve!

    M52A2's at work!!

The 818's use them too. Call around to some salvage yards and see if someone will cut one off a residue truck for you.

hard top with m66 gun ring

I think Wreckerman got one from GL with a GI-made hole. They used a 55-gallon drum top.

5 ton woe's from Ft Hill UT to Kennewick, WA

Man, Tony, that really sucks. I hate that for you. If there is a radiator shop nearby that works on big trucks they may be able to put a core in it for you pretty quick.

    Inner fender question

Ditto on the GM inners. Mine came without the extra strap bracing for the battery trays so I cut the old ones off and used them on the new inner fender. If you switch to Optima or other gel cell batteries, they won't puke acid all over the fender and start the process again. If you want to...
