    cucv lift kits

No offense, but before you spend the money on a lift kit it might be a good idea to invest in an English 101 class at a college. Capitalization, punctuation, and spelling are important; especially the spelling because misspelled words don't show up when someone does a search. Again, I don't...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

After my panic stop last month my brakes have been squeaking. I pulled the wheels off and the pads were pretty thin so I added it to the to-do list. The squeaking has gotten worse though so I decided to just swap out the pads. Looked at the NAPA ones but ended up ordering some Wagner QC52...

    CUCV Locking Fuel Cap

There was a thread over on AR15.com about the high-speed diesel pumps. A guy in the business wrote a long dissertation on all the behind-the-scenes stuff at gas stations. He strongly suggested NOT using the high-speed pumps as they don't filter as well as the auto pumps do. Yes, I would...

I was thinking of an electric fuel door lock.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I'm not sure where to best put this, but here it is. Something for the fabricators around here. At under $4 I might have to pick up a couple. http://www.sciplus.com/p/GUARDIAN-ELECTRIC-1224VDC-PULL-SOLENOID_52455

What do you guys replace gov.lock with?

This is very intriguing. Just a couple of questions for anyone who has used the Spartan locker before- Is that part number for the M1009 front diff? I see a few youtube videos but mostly for M1008s With the front hubs unlocked, and in 2WD, is it even noticeable? If one's experience with diffs...

What do you guys replace gov.lock with?

What are our options up front? I don't mind the gov lock in the rear for the type of mild 4WD that I do, but the open diff up front bothers me. What's a good inexpensive fix for it, if any?

    CUCV colors

My insurance company refused to believe the VIN; they insisted the VIN I'd submitted to them was wrong. I finally had to send them a picture of the actual VIN tag I took through the windshield. When my agent retired and I was assigned to a new agent, I had to go through the whole process all...

Corbeau Seat Brackets - Need Advice

I'm no expert so don't quote me, but I recall reading in here somewhere that the military got S10 Blazer seats in the M1009. You might be off the track completely.

    M1009 Horn Replacement

I was speaking of using the air horn function, not the siren tones. Siren tones = trubba.

    M1009 Horn Replacement

Check craigslist using the search terms 'federal signal' or 'whelen' and look for an old cop siren. I have a model with two 100 watt outputs and let me tell you, people soil their seats when I touch that thing off, more so now that it's windows-down weather.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I don't know if its the warm weather or what, but I've noticed the engine in my 09 is running smoother and quieter, and seems to have a bit more power lately.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

After my panic stop on Monday I've noticed a very slight squeak in the brakes when rolling at low speeds, and since it was time to rotate the tires I figured it was a good time to have a look at the brakes. They're all getting to the replace-me point, but I didn't see anything out of the...

Structure of M1009 Fiberglass top - Adding a Roof Rack

I haven't noticed any cracking, but then I also know a little about torques and such, so I didn't smoke them down so hard the fiberglass would break either.

Structure of M1009 Fiberglass top - Adding a Roof Rack

Oh! Sorry, I thought you were putting it over the cab. I installed a rack on my hard-top that I got from ProLine Racks. The 58" length is perfect for the cap. There are three thru-bolts at each end which line up great with the three steps on the inside of the cap. Look inside at the top of your...

Structure of M1009 Fiberglass top - Adding a Roof Rack

Yes, there is a little space between the sheet metal on the cab roof. Why would you use a false gutter kit when you have a real gutter already?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Today I did my first panic stop in the M1009. I was cruising smooth at 60MPH in the left traffic lane, with an additional HOV lane to my left. The cars in my lane came to a stop right where the HOV lane merges with the left lane (I guess people couldn't figure out how to merge so everyone...
