    Help with rear hydraulic winch

I was successful ordering parts from them. I used the mile marker part numbers for the items I needed which are in the install manuals instead of nsn or military part numbers. Not sure if those tubes are listed separately in the front mm manual. It seemed to make the process easier. I had to...

    Help with rear hydraulic winch

You have to mod the set up as there were no trucks oe with both winches. check with tomcata3 as he has done it. The attached pic is his as he had to add the cut off valves. I think the rear winch separate solenoid pack is next to the Cadillac valve. Suprman had the solenoids a while back. Post...

Most of the time if there has been an upgrade or design improvement, there is usually only one choice available. Problem solver is based on real world failure analysis and feedback from professional installers along with their quality control evaluation of returned parts. Problem solver is the...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Not sure as I do not know how to test nor do I have a real radio..... But I do suspect it works as it was left on a gp truck and it had lots of cabling and looked like a comm truck with dual mid antenna towers ( on the project list :-) ) and rear mounts. Surprised it went with the truck and the...

Harris RF-382 Antenna Coupler Mounting Question

I recently researched the Harris Rf-382 coupler to install in my M-998 and found the tech manual that showed it mounted sideways in the rear cargo area for the M-1114 slant backs. So Yes, The military did install them vertically or horizontally and it appears to make no difference in functionality.

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

More Comm Gear I had been looking for a reasonable Bat antenna As-3588 / GRC-206 for a while and Greg 86humv hooked me up. I got the tall swiss cheese right rear mount from American Milspec. This set up is usually on FAC forward air control hmmwv's. All the pics I have found for the swiss...

New Member Question: Red and yellow rear placards

On the 5ton, they were already mounted on a rigid steel plate as they were take offs and I just drilled extra holes and tucked them in front of the mud flap. On my M998, I mounted on thin sheet metal that I got from Home Depot almost like tin and cut them wide at the top so they tucked into the...

    Fram CH6PLfor 003a/002a only $.50 at TSC!!!

Not true. Try to find a spec diff inbetween their silver and gold product line. Even their wix reps will dance around the question. All come off the same line..... Wix is a world class outfit with Plants around the world. Silver is a lower price point for lube shops, Mom & Pop shops offering a...

    Steering rebuild

Moog or Dana/Spicer Chassis sold at Napa line code ncp as they also sell a cheaper knock off 2nd brand. On front end parts, you definitely get what you pay for. Store brand or 2nd line usually junk mostly China nowadays. A/1 Cardone for gear box and pumps. World class re-manufacteur with...

    Tires wearing out too fast

Center tread wearing can also be a radial pull and belt separation of an impending tire going. It would look more uneven and the tire would start to ride and feel very harsh.

Back in the day we had a display on the counter of 3 cut up oil filters Fram PH8a, Wix/NAPA 1515, and ac delco for ford apps. This filter fits over 20 years from 60-80's + Fram paper pleats were the lowest count and not even uniform of the 3, glued like it was elmeer's and done by a 5 year old...

    Fram CH6PLfor 003a/002a only $.50 at TSC!!!

I realize it is a great deal but do some research and you will see why no major national automotive parts chain sells fram.....but Walmart, Kmart do...... I sold parts for 20 years and anything is truly better than a cheap retail mass merchandise brand. YMMV
