The crank disconnect is located behind the gauges. If you let down the door to the gauges, you will see all the relays lined up on the bottom. The one on the far left that looks different (has a circuit board inside)is the crank disconnect. If you have a helper you can just take the magnetic...
Here you go I found it.
Screw magnetic pickup (7, Figure 2-25) into flywheel housing until pickup bottoms out on flywheel.
Back magnetic pickup out 1-1/2 turns and finger tighten nut (6).
Connect electrical connectors and remove tags.
Adjust magnetic pickup (7) in accordance with paragraph...
The mag pickup is located on the bellhousing right below the starter. It tells the starter to disengage and energizes the field. According to the DC wiring diagram it plays a roll in the 24volts to the hour meter and x connector on k1. I believe if you try the start switch after its started and...
1st question, after the unit is up and going, if you hit the start switch back to start do you hear the starter grinding?
It could be K20 relay which is the oil pressure relay or the mag pickup or the ac interrupter switch.
Also remember that there are mistakes in the TM so don't always trust them but 99% of the time they are correct. Just wanted to throw that out there. :)
I agree and posted this in one of the first few post of this thread. I still cant believe it broke the rocker instead of bending the push rod worse but if it was already weak, who knows.
You're doing a great job! I would not worry about going any further after you verify all the rings are set correctly because you know the builder did not go any further than you have. Now, you will be the expert on these engines because most people have not been this far into these as you are...
Every engine I've worked on had the pushrods stamped with the year the engine was manufactured. I could always tell someone had been into an engine before me if the pushrod had different dates on them. But if they all have the same date, I wouldn't be worried, just if they all had different...
Is your voltage gauge working? Are you reading 120 at each leg? It may just be the gauge, they are known to fail. I would take some electrical cleaner and spray the reconnection switch while turning it from 240 single phase to 208 3 phase several dozen times. Sometimes the connections get dirty...
I don't have a dog in this fight but from the start, I think the seller was up front and didn't try to hide anything. He told USAMILRet everything that was wrong and it was USAMilRet decision to buy the unit "as is". USAMILRet knew what he was buying before the transaction ever took place. I...
So you took the spring metering valve and holder out to see the plunger? Some people don't remove everything and think they are seeing the plunger but they are not. Check out the attachment for the breakdown. Keep spraying carb cleaner into it and also take off the supply fuel line and spray...
Before you go any further, take the center cap off the injector pump (the cap that's in the center between the injector lines). Then you will have another 13mm cap to take off. When your taking the 13mm cap off be careful because as soon as you take it off, there is a spring and metering valve...
If you have rebuilt any motor, then you can do these. The hardest part about the head is getting the push rod tubes and head gasket aligned while reinstalling the head. It's really straight forward but the head is heavy trying to do it alone. Also it's easier in my opinion to pull and reinstall...
Whoaaaaa! I can't believe it was running. Push rod part number is 186-6098 and they are expensive. I think the lowest price I every found was $35 but I can't find any cheaper than $50. I've had units with the rocker arm stud broke off but never seen the actual rocker broken in half. The original...
After watching that video, I'm leaning towards injectors. Since the engine was rebuilt you shouldn't have that much smoke coming out, then at the end of the video it's showing signs of carbon been burned off (the sparks coming out the exhaust).
I bought a set of new injectors off ebay from...
