The TM's (technical manuals) are subdivided and identified mostly by the last 2 digits of the manuals identification. Example: If someone says look at -24 they mean 9-6115-641-24. Each manual is for a specific purpose and if you see a manual with a P at the end, your looking at a manual that is...
You have 1 or 2 problems. The adjustment on the shut off solenoid (that is attached to the front of the motor) is not letting the arm extend far enough to shut it down or one of the pumps is not in the rack correctly. Does the generator put run properly? Is it able to hold 10kw (or 80%) plus...
I agree with Zed but since your not going to work on the unit yourself stay away from the 831a. They are great machines but they seem to always have small problems. The 802a will be the machine to get, you'll have minimal issues if any. I sold an 802a to a gentleman in your same situation...
Looks great! Man those lights are bright! You can try to loosen the nuts on the back of the gauges that are holding the studs in place to see if that helps. Sometimes they are torqued to tight and give off problems like this. Then check the sending unit wires and compare to the manual to see if...
The higher hour 802a's are going between $550-$1000 at auction right now. If everything looks good and produces power, I would pay $1500.
Things to check are the well nut for the drain and check the water pump. If the well nut is bad, you'll see fuel sitting in the bottom near the fuel pump. To...
You'll have to take the entire front (radiator) section off, with the fuel tank. Then there are 4 long bolts that run the length of the generator head, attaching to the block that must me removed. Brace the generator head with a piece of wood and take the bolts out of the engine mounts. Then use...
I had the same experience from GL. They tried to crank the motor over when it was stuck and busted the piston. I was lucky to have a parts 802a, that I pulled the piston out of to replace the broken one. I really think they sprayed either in mine to try to start it. auaaua
Have you check your valve clearances? This could be the issue but I'm really thinking its the IP.
There is a manual on the injector pump also to check timing. The easiest thing is to check the valve clearance first and then move to the injector pump.
If you want a long life out of the unit, you really need to rebuild. I'm so afraid when you break the pistons loose, you're going to have severe rust pitting. You can get the rust off and put it back together but you may only get a 1000 hours out of it before you burn up the crank bearings. If...
From my understanding, the scanner for the port is so expensive the military only has a few. I've never heard of anyone even seeing or using one. Guy may have seen one before; hopefully he will chime in.
Here you go for your auto start controller. https://inovahightech.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=20&product_id=61
I hope you don't have the 805b because they want $1,999 for the controller and you have to be part of the military to buy it.
That's very common with no load. The engine doesn't get hot enough to burn all the fuel off so then the fuel sticks to all the carbon. Then it had all that carbon mixing with water that was getting in through the exhaust. I would get a few cans of carburetor cleaner and soak the cylinders down...
Your going to have to let it sit for at least a few days. I usually have to let them sit a couple of days in trans fluid and mystery oil. Then try to move it back and forth slowly. It will take about a week to get it free. These recommendations are also used if you pull the head. Don't even...
