It only got down to the 40's those few nights. I was wondering the same thing and contemplated a "first light" attempt if this one had failed. Mud season here is pretty unpredictable. That and be unprepared were not a good combination. I was very lucky.
The snow was misleading, it was very...
It was empty and basically the back tires weren't doing much of anything anything. Plan "C" was to start loading as much wood and crap in the back as I could find. My luck a forest ranger would have cited me for illegally hauling firewood!! It was in low range. In high range the motor just...
Appreciate that! I was talking to the tow driver and told him to get on GovPlanet and look at the wreckers. They have a large semi wrecker, but no way it would make it in to where I was.
Thanks guys for the offers to help! I knew I'ld get a few if I yelled, "Help!" Wouldn't want to drag anyone here from far away due to my own stupidity.
I'm really really mad at myself. I work in public safety here in the mountains. I KNOW not to go out unprepared. I KNOW not to go out...
The next day was still warm, but the forcasts were calling for snow in the future, CRAP! I formulated a plan and a buddy went along. I was able to drive my pickup in from the original direction. Loaded up with tools, tarps, 5 gallon buckets, etc. I had a plan. Stopped along the road and loaded...
The next day after work I decided to hike up to the truck from the other end of the road. This was only a couple miles, but higher and more shady, thus more snow. I was prepared this time with proper clothing, footwear, protection, and hydration. I was more scouting than actually attempting to...
Sunday was a really nice day here, in the low 60's and sunny. Took the M923 out for a spin. Ended up going up into the hills for a little while. "Most" of the snow was melted off and "most" roads were pretty dry. The truck was driving great.
Here a pic from when things were going great...
I'm going to step back a bit and look at it further. I still have one leaking wheel O-Ring. Since it warmed up it hasn't been leaking as bad, so I wasn't too worried about fixing it right away. Checked tire pressures and found that one is about 10 PSI lower than the others. The CTIS was...
That switch is OK. The system turns on right at 120 PSI. The one I'm concerned about is the little square switch that screws into the top of the PCU. It has a 3 wire plug on it.
Thanks for the info. The continuity checked OK on all of mine. They were all right around 48 Ohms, so I'm assuming they are OK and my problem must be elsewhere. Still don't know how to test to pressure transducer and if it could be causing my issue.
My CTIS has been working properly. I was getting 4 flashing light errors when my tires were leaking. Got most of that fixed and it was working fine. Then it starting making a noise in the pneumatic control unit. I could hear a solenoid cycling very fast. Machine gun fast: click click click...
I was more concerned that there was something wrong with it. Looking at the "Turning up" thread, I'm thinking it might be normal. I am planning on changing all the filters soon. The tank looked spotless and the fuel was very clean when I got it.
"If the converter was locked then when you...
My truck seems to be sluggish on take off from a stop. Almost like it's trying to start off in second gear. It's definitely in first, verified by shifting the gears manually. Searching, I found mention of the torque converter staying locked up when it goes into first gear, but I didn't find...
