Yes, you are correct on the size. Probably about a pea size, it just likes kind of big because i got the camera up close to get a clear picture. You could stick a pick up gum in it to fill it up.
Epoxy would be the easier route, but thought I'd figure out how to use my welders on something...
The oil drain plug is lower than this hole. So I can get the oil out, scuff and degrease it.
JB Weld was something else I thought up but not sure how much I should trust it. Plus I bought these welders for situations just like these.
The JB Weld, would you trust it as a permenant solution...
To me it looks like Aluminum but would like to verify.
The hole is not bad and it's in a corner as you can see in the picture. I was going to pull it but have it up on my lift and now contemplating on trying to weld it without pulling it out. (I've purchased a replacement in case I can't get...
Do you have specifics as to why? Again if nothing else wouldn't the cases be the same? These things are $100 on ebay but you put Hmmwv on it and it's marked out 700%.
I'm looking for anybody that knows exactly the differences and again worse case can you just swap internals.
Thanks
Just trying to get up a hill of mulch. I hope the driveshaft had a prior problem as easy as it broke. It was dark and wanted to get it out. I should have left it and came back and took the drive shaft before pulling it up the hill.
I broke a drive shaft and towing it out, put a hole in the transfer case.
I've got some others in vehicles I'm going to do restores on down the road but looking for other ways to get this fixed as I drive this one.
Looking on epay, I see some Jeep 242's that look pretty similiar? Has anybody...
Ok, I finally got them out. One was swollen bad and the end was a little bent. The other two, I think it's the tool I have. Again I think I got if from Kascar. I think the glow plug head was getting a little crossed up in the tool and what was causing the problem. The two I had the problems...
I'm going to try and piggy back off this thread.
I've been working on a new to me Hmmwv. I had a wiring problem and thought all was well. Finally got the 10 sec wait like when the vehicle wasn't warm but the temp dropped this last week and now starts are hard on a 48 degree morning.
I...
No I did not. I just grounded the gauges and ran the grounding wires recommended. I got a S3 box where the wait light would come on like it's supposed but the glow plugs haven't been working. As we speak I'm trying to pull them, I have one swelled so bad even an extractor I have isn't getting...
Glad to do it. Same here, I didn't get a deal but purchased them off ebay. When they didn't fit contacted the seller and let him know and started getting the typical I've never had a complaint and you can just swap out the buckets. I told him to just send me some of the correct buckets then...
Check with Mike Vraden in GA. He's making a fiberglass top and at one time had plans on making a slant back to add on. (Not sure if that's still happening.) I think he's building the tops for some of the M1123's going on GovPlanet.
You're missing a windshield frame with mounts unless you plan...
Piggybacking on this thread. I've got bunch of 24 bolt rims I need to put together. Looking for a place to buy bulk.
I happened across this thread on Pirate talking about 8 & 12 bolt rims.

I found some isolators on Ebay with 1/2" studs. I'm going to try them. The seller said they could have whatever size I needed made but didn't give a price. It was $7 for 4 plus shipping.
His ebay handle is repairparts.
You've got to do more than that. You'll need a wiring harness to hook up the 4L80e which are kind of pricey. Or you'll need one of the a Transmission Control system such as from
USShift. (Most of the wiring harnesses that come with the 6.5 optimizer take outs have been cut.)
There is a...
