    Data Plates Arrived

Will the joint you use stamp them, too? Police officers give me funny looks because my S/N is electro-pencilled on the tag, and they don't like sticking their heads down in the frame rail to look at the frame number.

    Cookout at Zout's

I'm planning on coming home for a weekend, but it's two weeks after this, so I'm going to pass for this year. I'm making the MA--GA and back trek more than I'd like to this year, as it is. I really enjoyed the food and the hospitality, so I look forward to attending in future years if this...

    Anyone on SS do this??

Chrome? I'm just going to leave this here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/members-rides/2437-malibu-california-style-black-duece.html.

    Anyone on SS do this??

Anyone catch the Budd nuts/thimbles on the rear tires instead of actual lug nuts? I feel like that may be a bit of a hazard going down the road at, say, 70 MPH as you know some idiot in this probably would (let's not get Ron started...).

    Oregon M35A2

TM9-2320-209-20-2-1 (Organizational Maintenance Troubleshooting Manual) has the fuel system troubleshooting flowchart in it. EDIT: Upon further review, there isn't anything useful in this...

    Oregon M35A2

Sounds like there might be some worn out idle-circuit component in the IP... ...anybody know where to get a troubleshooting manual/diagram for the IP itself? Is that covered in one of the -20 manuals?

    Sad day for my M1008

****, if you've got that much in it, aren't willing to put a cheap spare motor in it, and want to sell it that cheap, definitely list it on the classifieds here and PM Doghead if he's interested! Looks like a good truck that just needs a new heart to be as good as new again.

    Oregon M35A2

Is it giving you any other troublesome symptoms when running at operating speed, or at idle? Excessive smoke, running rough, idling rough, etc...? Also, you could go out for a nice, 100-mile or so hard drive again and see if that doesn't work any problems out of the fuel system. If you...

    Marine trucks?

A.R.M.Y. Strong? Ain't Really Marines Yet Also, I think the Marine Corps 2 1/2-tons has Detroit lockers in their rears, too, to aid in amphibious beach landings with sandy conditions.

you gotta check out this 6x6 Power Wagon

Sorry... I've been in a nit-picky overly-anal mood for the past week for some reason.

    Fort Drum Deuce recovery

Doghead and Mr. Corleone: Are there still more Deuces to come out of Drum in the future? I'm interested in getting a truck in the North East (I live in the Boston area for 1/2 of the year and I miss having my big truck with me), and Ft. Drum has been recommended to me several times, especially...

you gotta check out this 6x6 Power Wagon

WC62/63 frame and stuff, I'd assume? The M62 is a 5-ton wrecker. I'm not going to lie, that's the sharpest looking build I've seen in a long time.

    Bobbed Wrecker concept

I like it as a creative use for a bobber! Would a K-boom maybe be an option to give you a small truck to use for general lifting of just about anything? It seems like it would be a bit more useful than a wrecker bed with such a short truck. I also feel like DH's comment is true enough that a...

    To V8 another ? YES

Awesome! Sounds like you know what you're doing. I especially like the not-having-to-drill anything out part. Keep us posted!

    deuce air compressor

I believe you need a special pulley wrench for the Deuce compressor. Search for "compressor wrench" using the google search button (under search at the top of the page) and you should find several threads. Somebody CADded one up and I believe RDixiemiller had a bunch laser-cut a few years ago...

    To V8 another ? YES

You better have your brakes dialed in if you're going to tow a command car with that... or upgrade to disc brakes. The brakes on the M37 are good for just the truck, but I would be quite wary of towing anything more than a 1-ton load on a trailer behind it with the stock brakes.

    Deuce Action Shots

Tree work... we've got a bunch of dead pines still standing due to a bad pine-borer beetle problem a few years back. The deuce has no problem with them pines! Also, 1958 M274's truck pinch-hitting for my truck (down with brake problems) hauling shelves for an Eagle Scout Project.
