Thanks guys for a great weekend! Loved that ridge trail, and all the wheeling. Next year Andrew I'm going to bring you some of my veggie oil, It'll smell better when i'm behind you:driver:
I only got afew pics before the camera batteries gave out.
Heres my contribution.
I just received 2 new seals form Erick's supply ( thanks coalman) They are New Star brand, at around 9 bucks apiece. I was really hoping for some NOS replacements. But they should be better than my leaking ones. We will see how they hold up.
Pulled mine a few weeks ago. It even beat out the tractor with 3 engines. I aired the tires down to 15 lbs, and ran low range 2nd gear. It hooked up like you wouldn't belive. at full pull plus 36 feet it ran out of power with the front tires a few inches off the ground. Never spun a tire, all...
For the bed: i'd try a piece of heavy timber spanning that crumpled section from underneath and use your jack to lift up the weight of the truck on it. then use a BFH to massage the panel back in place. Like auto body work only with a little more attitude! That might relieve some stresses on the...
I run 20 psi in the rear stock ndt's (dualed) for everyday driving, Even with a 5000lb load in the bed (not for long distance) and 50 in the front. I would run lower pressure for more traction. Not sure what it will take to peal a tire from the rim. But if were me running i think i would run 10...
I worked off my m38A1 in the same way you were thinking. It was over priced at $2,900. But i charged him 150 hrs at $20/hr. so i think things worked out in the long run. And I as well as the previous owner were happy.
I run alot of wvo, stay away from the chicken places. It has way to much dissolved fat content. You will go thru to many filters trying to clean it up. But it does smell great!!
Jim, I'm using (2) 6 port pollack valves to do the switching of fuel lines. And use the blue silicone 3/8" fuel line with the better fuel injection clamps. The pollack valves have hose barb fittings so i also use some brass threaded tee blocks where i need to tie into the deuce factory lines...
Sorry i missed those earlier questions: With my switching solenoids i leave my stock in tank pump running as it flows thru the pick-up side of the I.P. then thru the stock fuel filters, and it goes back to the stock diesel tank. It then functions as a fuel polisher, as the fuel is constantly...
Reporting back in: I have burned thru my second 80 gal tank full of wvo/wmo mix. After looking at the tank, it is still clean with no deposits. My racor fuel filter element is still in good shape ( 2 micron ) after 80 gal.
I kept track of millage this time and i am getting around 6.5 mpg on...
Yesterday i was looking under the hood of a new Western Star, And what caught my eye was: Right under that big label of DETRIOT DIESEL was
made in mexico
Shouldn't it be called mexican diesel now. Just not a fan of...
I should note that i start and warm up the engine on diesel. Then switch over to aux fuels for driving. and on my 5 min idle before shut down i switch back to diesel to purge IP of aux fuels. I have used this set-up regularly this winter running 100% wvo, wmo at temps of minus -15F and up to...
Here are a pics of my set-up. I took some of the insulation off of the fuel and coolant lines that run from the tank to the filter for some more clarification. Unfortunatly my camera battries died only after 4 pics, so i will try to get some more up tomorrow. The tank is a golden fuel 100 gal...
Good point, I should have mentioned that i use a seperate coolant heated tank with heated fuel lines to a seperate electric pump up to a pollack switching valve just after the stock fuel filters. That way i have a dedicated filter just for alt. fuels and stock filters and pump for diesel. This...
