when I repaint my deuce 24087 semi gloss olive, is it considered OK to leave the wood stained, or do I have to paint it? Looking for a failry correct early Vietnam period paintjob. I've seen Other vehicles with unpainted wood, but never an M35. When first delivered, my deuce was semi gloss...

hey Kenny, can't tell much from the pics but is this bed anything you need for your pipeline truck?
if that doesn't fit the bill, here's another cheap truck, just needs a little work to...
Well, I have come to the conclusion that 4 wheel drive is just about worthless. Driving through mud pits and up snow piles is all well and good if you have the momentum, but sometimes I don't. Not to mention the suspension doesn't articulate and about halfway up a pile I lose my middle axle...
my boss just got a (ech) TJ, and I'm looking for ways to make him cooler. I tried a bunch of research but could not find a single Willys body swap onto a late model Jeep. If I'm not mistaken CJ's on up were too large to use the early body without major mods, right?
how much of an estimate...
so, I hit a roadblock. I've got my resistor mounted, one wire going to the lower post of the toggle switch, the other to the top. Then I have the power wire from the circuit breaker going to the center post. Then I have the on/off wire from the blower motor running to the same post as one of...
next to the M125/M123 10 ton, I'd have to say my most desired military vehicle is a V-100. Man those things are tight.
here's some pics to drool over:

hey all, decided after work I wanted a muffler NOW, so I went down to Summit Racing and picked up a DynoMax race bullet muffler. It's a 3.5" straight through design, 16 3/4" long.
Cut the pipe on the bandsaw, cut a section out for the muffler (leaving an extra six inches over standard...
against all better judgement and the advice of many friends and family members, I went ahead with the help of my dad [:)] After reading "Servicing Split Rims" in issue 97 of Military Vehicles Magazine, I decided it was easily attemptable with the proper equipment, attention to detail, and...
Hey all, I'm looking to buy a bulk load of insulating material- to do the underside of the hood, and the side panels for the engine. I think that will make a big difference not only in winter heat retention, but in noise reduction. Also, I want a bunch to make an insulating liner for the soft...
I am about to order up a kit, and wanted to know a) if it really was worth it. WITH the winter cover over the radiator, what is the real world time before you see any heat in the cab? I want the NOS kit partly because it is a "correct" install, partly because I have found no other good...
I hope Joe doesn't mind, but I hi-jacked this off the MilVeh list, it was too good to pass up for those installing a heater:

hello all, I thought I was clear on the CUCV- that it had a 1 ton front and rear axle, the rear witha detroit.
Now, I have noticed conflicting information in three different spots- the first being a standard catalog of 4 wheel drives stating the obvious, that the K30 had a full floating 1...
just suggesting that we bring the ranks back based on posts. I liked that :burger:
only, maybe break it down some more. Like, I've noticed mostly not a lot of members break 100. So, maybe break it up into smaller ranges- like 0-25 would be private, 26-50 would be private first class...
I'm looking for any and all info I can find on this kit- Mainly, how you can tell if it's been installed. Dave popped off the cover of that case and found gears that looked just like the standard sprag, but it has a manua; shifter making me more confused. Are there any visual differences...
Well, I ran into a slight roadblock in my airshift swap. I got the output cover off, and without even unbolting the transfer case itself. BUT, it turns out you need more than just the output cover. INside the sprag case there is a set of gears, in the air case there are two clutches. I got...
I didn't see this topic transfer over so I reposted it:
