should this thing be going over the side of the engine and pointing right at the fenderwell/ground? At first I thought my turbo was leaking cause it ran right next to it, but I got to looking and it appears to be the vent tube leaking. Is that right?
thanks
well, my brand new turn signal arrived and I was all excited about it fixing my stop lights. Nope, didn't help. Dang!
I should have been wary before when I was getting no power to the brake light switch, let alone out of it. So, I sat down and color coded my wiring diagram trying to make...

was down at DMV for a few hours yesterday registering the deuce. First step, VIN inspection that was easy as pie and they could have cared less what I was driving, whether it was safe, what it even was, as long as that VIN matched. BTW, there should be one stamped on the frame in the front...
what I'm looking for is pictures or information on the standard method of vehicle loading into a deuce. Some sort of ramps? I want to make some styled like the originals (mostly because I know it would work then) to load my t-bucket in th bed. It's small enough it should fit with adequate room...

turned out pretty nice. Total time was about 2 hours. The bed is a lot bigger than it looks when you're on your knees with a scraper and wire brush!
Looks nice and clean now, no more rust. I also drilled an additional drain hole on each side, and enlarged the standard ones. They had, of...
My tires are all hovering around 42-45 psi and I want to fill them 55.
Is it safe to do so? 42 psi is less than 80% of the tire's normal psi, 45 is just over. So what do I do now?
it's the back ones that are lower, so at least when I...
dang! sourced some 3 1/2" ID pipe, got her cut, cut out the old centers of the hubs, tacked on the new pieces, made some end plates, figured I'd better fit it up before welding and the dang things are just a tad too small! It clears the bearing nut no prob, it's that little tab with the fold...
I got my bridge plate yesterday but am confused at how it mounts- it came with an l-bracket that presumably goes on the bottom back, and appears to rest on one of the flat crossbars of the grill, then the strap goes on the backside and long bolts go from the plate to the strap? Is this right...
my spare's only held on by one nut at the moment, and was ordering from McMaster anyway so I'll get a spare. What are they, 1 inch fine thread studs?
oh yeah, and I assume the spare lug studs are right hand thread?
thanks!
hey all, I'm looking for pics of deuces with pioneer racks- where were they mounted and what did they have on them? Were they ever standard on these trucks? Mine didn't come with any tools, anybody seen a place offering the full standard tool set?
thanks!
I'd like to see a section for general military vehicle discussions. I mean, lots of the info for these vehicles is common to all of them, for example split rim tire safety, etc.
So, in the general category you could put a general military vehicle talk section that everybody can go to ask just...
I haven't been able to find much in the way of mufflers I could add on. I was thinking there's probably an auger type universal muffler, or maybe somebody has added baffles? See, it's not that big a deal, but after about 10 minutes of accelerating in traffic it gets annoying. My brother takes...
I've seen quite a few cool deuce pics, so I think it would be neat to start a thread with those even though they're not mine . We'll kick it off with this one

so I got my new (used) light switch from Alex today, popped it on, everything works now EXCEPT the brake lights. Alex had warned the brake light switch could also have burned up, he said that's not uncommon. Well, we located the brake light switch (we're pretty darn sure that's what it was, on...
I'd like to buy it, or, rather buy the end of it. I went to swap my front flanges off, but low and behold my flanges didn't fit- I had wondered beforehand about whether that bowl shaped area in the flange needed to be duplicated. Well, it turns out it did. I'd seen the other homemade...
hey all I want to adjust my idle speed to 800 RPM, anytime it's below that it seems to shake too much. I went to adjust it last night but couldn't figure out the rod- it appears there are no threads anywhere on the linkage to twist the rod in or out, and no stops. I tried a search through my...
