Is it an omen not to travel??
When i went to open the door, the outside handle tries to work but 'slips' and does not open the door mechanism. What to do? It doesn't look easy to get into this.
I have not seen this kind of topic yet.
So, while traveling to many states, a person's right to have a firearm for protection against bandits could come up. Bandits? sure, at bad truck stops, or along the lonely road or the odd campground somewhere, etc.
It is pretty clear which states allow...
This weekend was the "ARRL field day", a day when ham rdio operators come out of their secret labs, converted attics, and their half of the sewing room to set up their portable (flexible definition!) gear outdoors and operate it from batteries or generated power. You never know what someone will...
Topic for discussing and posting the pictures and adding links to more pictures and videos from the rally.

Does anyone know if the PRC-116 will talk with SINCGARS? Of course it will in plain mode. Just like the PRC-25/77, RT524/246, and Racal TRA-967.
The difference is that the 116 has encryption and hopping. This is the point of my question.
I know it will talk to SINCGARS encrypted on a channel...
Today I got off my butt and replaced the leaking gasket between the turbo oil outlet and the oil return tube. It was not as hard as I thought, and getting at it required the removal of the slobber hose, flame heater spray nozzle, and fuel/brake vent tube. Then the metal draft tube was able to be...
Here is the AT-677/VR antenna. About 5FT tall, spring loaded base with ball mount. Seems to peak resonance about 155MHz. Other numbers: (99872) 24278-PC-64
Does anyone know what it is for?
I finally got off my butt and did some more work on the truck. I can't see too good, and have always needed backup lights. I backed over a nissan pickup once in the dark because I couldn't see it, and it cost alot of $ to fix.
After putting these on, I realized how pristinely NOS they are, and...
I'm looking for a take-off turbo oil return tube for the M35. and if anyone has a spare gasket lying around..
I assume they are all the same, but I have the non-whistler. It got put back on crooked at Memphis equ., and I think I have messed it up trying to repair and tighten it.
I think I...

It's possible that I might go to the big XL tires.
plusses: lower engine RPMs.
neutrals: truck height goes from 144 inches to 146.25 inches (based on DM96's measurement of his ground to axle center of 22.75 with the XL's versus 20.5" for 11.00x20's).
minuses: oops.. now I "must" carry a big...

The video shows a M35 pulling another M35 out of the mud by backing up. Is this hard on the transmission to pull in reverse?
Richardson TX has a small parade. This year I will be in it and my father, LTC (R) Leonard Jankowiak will be riding in the M35 passenger seat.
A friend of mine, CPT (R) Charlie Richmond, would like to ride in a WWII jeep or any deuce for the Dallas parade. He's running for County Sherriff also...
On road trips many things might be eaten. Hopefulle we know what they are before we eat them. Usually we take the vendor's wword for it.. but even then there are doubts. There should be a place to post pictures of unusual truck-stop fare and things on yer plate ya aint sure what it is.
So, I'll...
There are about 900 high resolution pictures categorized by date and location. Of most interest will be Memphis Equipment and Groban Supply co.

Been working with the VIC-4 intercom system. This is like the VIC-1, except it controls 4 tranceivers where the VIC-1 controls two tranceivers and one receiver.
When working with one of these to interface a CB radio or other non-FM tranceiver, there can be issues of the transmitted RF signal...
I'm off 2 weeks.. Right now I am looking at a few options. Mostly North, where it's a little cooler, and also want to make pilgrimages to electronics surplus stores.
looks like the MS_OK_AR_TX_OK rally's off due to the park scheduling an "ATV rally" the same weekend.
Here is something very...
look at this thing! claims to give 1PSI boost.
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/
I'm very skeptical. It is very small, but not only that, I have a much larger electric vaneaxial fan that makes 250CFM@4.5" water. It takes 28VDC@25A
4.5" is only about 0.16PSI. according to this chart...
