Part # for the GR starter bracket is 23502557, is different part # than the standard drive starter bracket which if memory serves was discontinued & no longer widely available.
Hullo
Since my wife is rather short she'd like me to install some sort of assist to help her get into the M1009. So far most the stuff i've checked out have mounted to the vehicle rockers & at most have had extra bracing going to the frame. Are there any running boards, nerf bars, or steps...
now that we're back.
Installed updated gp temp sensor & pigtail yesterday & managed to get it titled & tagged this afternoon so i'm officially street legal.
While looking for my current toy, i had a chance at a M1009 with a 6.5 turbo & A/C in it. I asked a few questions over the phone then politely told the guy it wasn't the way i wanted to go since i wanted something closer to stock. Sound like i very likely dodged a HUGE bullet on that one!
Getting new M1009 ready for MO vehicle inspection, so transferring bits off the old one along with a few new things too.
LMC headlight harness & headlights
new non-Dorman turn signal socket & most bulbs
air filter
Datcon 24v voltmeter
cleaned & lubed various grounds & fuses in the fuseblock...
Found my issue so sharing with others. although supposedly compatible, the new Sylvania 2057 bulbs were the final thorn in my side. Pulled them & installed some old GE 1157s i had lying around & everything's working again. Don't know if this is a Sylvania issue or a 2057 vs 1157, or perhaps a...
Hopefully w/o totally derailing Op's thread. I'm a bit unfamiliar with GM & their light socket design, is the wiring supposed to unplug from the back of the turn socket or is my discovery that i can easily unplug my ground wire from the turn socket a likely source of all my pain?
Talk about timing! The m1009 i just got in has the same issue (no left turn or side marker) & this post started me with the ground wire & tomorrow morning i'll check the side marker socket then onto the turn signal socket. Thanks so much to everyone on the forums here.
EDIT: cause i'm...
After more than a couple years of inactivity i finally got the funds gathered and a replacement M1009 purchased today. Got it home just before sunset, so any pics will have to wait until tomorrow when i start going over what it needs & what new parts i can pull off my old blazer.
On the fuel side, do you still have the stock fuel filter/mount on the firewall? Those are prone to leaking & allowing fuel drainback which causes hard starting issues, especially after the vehicle has sat. Have you tried cracking a nut on an injector & seeing if they have fuel while the...
I installed the LMC 34-0114 (73-80 w/ grease-able brackets) while doing a front axle swap. Went fairly well except the front brackets didn't have quite wide enough bolt holes for the stock bolts. Took a wee bit of grinding to solve the issue. Believe the 34-116(w/o brackets) is the proper...
Sorry I hadn't quite made it clear enough. Yes I wanted to verify that the carrier from my old take-out steering axle could be used in the rear. It took me most of last Sat night cruising various forums to verify that they are interchangeable. Because of time/financial/availability situation...
Hi guys.
Been working on my M1009 all weekend swapping out the front axle since it had multiple balljoint/wheel bearing issues & then figured out some of my noise/twitching issues were Gov-bomb related instead.
Crazy question time then.
Short on cash & time so can I use front carrier to make...
someone double-check me, but it looks like the resistor bypass has already been done. That red wire which turns to blue is going from the top of the gp relay to the diamond shaped block above it, correct?
Floating ground 24V alternator? Please don't add to the op's confusion. If his m1009 is stock it might have 2x 12v alternators w/ isolated grounds, but he only requires 1 for the pass side. He can replace the driver's side w/ a reasonably available high-output alt & have the pass side rebuilt...
