30R9 fuel line seems to come up as various brands 3/8 fuel line for fuel injection vehicles on Amazon.
I picked up a set of rear shocks & started swapping them over only to find a PO possibly mixed standard & metric on the lower bolts/nuts? The bolts have a bad spot & even on a section of good...
The Glowplugs themselves are 12v. In a stock system GM configured a resistor on the back of the engine bay which took the 24v & stepped it down to 12 to go to the plugs. With that design any plug failure would cause the remaining plugs to receive more voltage & cause them to fail prematurely...
Took me a bit to get motivated but i finally replaced the wiper arms & blades to convert to newer Ford Bronco arms & 17" blades. The lisle puller worked excellent @ getting the old stuck arms off. Gave it careful wire brushing & a bit of anti-seize & the new arms slid on easily. While doing...
Oh yes, sorry forgot about this one for a bit. Sadly while i still have a NOS drain tube in my parts bin from when i was thinking about converting my old m1009, it sadly doesn't have any part #s on it to help with search.
As i understand the 84 K30 would be a closer match, but i wouldn't imagine a person couldn't figure things out. Believe there were minor changes GM implemented over the years that the Cucvs didn't get cause they were built to the 84 spec for their entire run.
While it shouldn't scare you off, just keep in mind that any converted parts you need to replace due to age/wear/neglect(it's a 30yo Chevy after all) you'll have to figure out what general age it is before the majority of parts stores can help you. This may have been swapped from a single donor...
hmm. Perhaps the seller's intention is that just the bed is "all original", not the whole truck? For a second there i thought maybe i was just crazy & had somehow missed out on all the stick-shift CUCVs over the years. :D
While i sympathize for the folk looking for good trucks, i do understand the opposite side of things as well. I'm using my old m1009 as parts for the new one & it's a shame since it's likely nicer than many other folks project vehicles, but at the same time I can't get a different parts truck...
Got my other group31 battery in the Blazer & hooked up new military style battery terminals & a couple new heavy duty cables. Only things i'm not super fond of on these is the 3/8 bolt & nut that secures the cables to the terminals is just so freaking long. Realize it's so a person can mount...
I'd agree with marcus on that. When trying random things to guesstimate what you have, you run the risk of frying the system & if that happens then your chances of successfully starting the truck will dramatically drop because you still gotta figure out what someone else did AND repair the...
Err yes, something starting to vibrate would definitely be when you started noticing a problem. I believe his point is don't automatically write it off because you put something new on so it "can't" be bad. A person can't discount their new parts being bad, or simply failing prematurely. In...
Weather was good did a little tinkering. Pulled the 2 antenna off the hood a PO installed & then found my plastic body plugs weren't the right size & that the local parts stores don't stock them at all. Guess i'll have to deal with a couple round holes in the hood for time being until i can...
Nothing too drastic due to weather. Over the weekend i finally installed my black Delco turn signal stalk to replace the original highly worn chrome one & today i picked up a couple of proper Exide Group31 batteries from the local large truck GMC dealership since they had a heck of a deal on them.
I've got all the stuff in, but found a PO had taken the stock arms off & re-attached them somewhat cocked. Picked up a Lisle puller to help work them loose as soon as the spare time & weather conditions overlap. Hopefully will get this done to my truck soon-ish.
Silly Question. Are you sure the starter is for a manual transmission? IIRC there's a difference between the heads on a manual vs auto trans, but that's going back over half-remembered posts here from years back...
