Agreed, nice score. Is yours a one prong or two prong slave cable? My '74 M35 has a two prong (as does my M37). I have been watching for 2 prong slave cables, or even just the plugs, but GL only seems to have the one prong ones. What is with that and is there a source for the 2 prong ones?
Steelandcanvas mentioned my thought. My lights were going on and off, turned out to be ground wire that grounds to the frame near the radiator. It was broken at the terminal, making occasional contact. As my old engine shop teacher said "it's the ground, it's always the (*^%*_)(* ground!"...
Congrats on the new iron! Just curious if you drove past the truck scale coming into WA (Ridgefield?) I never had to worry about scales in Juneau.......But, when I drove the M35A2 bobber in SeaTac area the scale between Tac and Sea northbound was flashing at me "truck stop at scales" or...
Lagers- I work on the Alaska Ferries (probably not on the one you will take though!). Anything I can do to help, drop me a PM. We carry a bunch of relocating Service people. the Gumment seems to like getting folks to Anchorage, Fairbanks, etc. on the ferry. I have driven it and of course...
Food is definitely on the table. When the local HOG group comes each year they get lunch and really do have a good time showing off their equipment. I am humbled when I go into the dining room at Pt. Defiance Village and look at the Wall of Honor that they have. It has pictures of dozens of...
Thanks Amer-team! I seemed to remember hearing about the Bremerton parade. Unless I hear of a group who wants to do this, I will pass on the idea of the JBLM celebration. Maybe they could take a van full to that event.
Hey you western WA MVers. My mom lives in a senior housing community near Pt. Defiance in Tacoma (Pt. Defiance Village). Here is a message she sent to me, are there any in the group who would like to contact me about doing this?
Ron and the Activities Director asked me if you knew who they...
I used bronze bushings because I wanted them to be softer material than the axle splines. The bushings are easy and cheap to replace. I used a bronze 2" boat propeller shaft for my bronze material. It was a short piece left over in a scrap bin. As you can see from the pictures, I also...
Does anyone near Spokane have a good trans for my M35A2? I am going to need to go through mine, it is popping out of 4th gear. Call me at nine 0 seven 723-3709, thks
Long test drive
Final update on this problem. Seattle Injector found that a lever-type part inside the hydraulic head had broken and caused the IP to quit working. I took the truck south to Puget Sound on the Alaska Ferry and it seemed to run good. I was still running the WMO/diesel oil mix...
I really don't know if the WMO contributed, but I am doubting it. There are too many folks here that are running even straight WMO. I filtered all of this oil multiple times using a 1 micron filter and a water separator. Then it still had to pass through primary and secondary fuel filters...
Just an update on this problem. I was able to get a new hydraulic head from a guy in Olympia, WA. (He deals in Buda diesel parts so some of them must use the same pump). Anyhow, got home last night and went to work on the M35A2 this afternoon. The hydraulic head gears did have a tooth that...
I have a set on my M37. If I had an extra set, I think someone would have to offer me over $150 ea. to get them (maybe not even then!) I will try to post a picture, if it does not work - go to my albums, see the M37 album and there is a pic of the truck with front fenders and hood off, you can...
wsucougarx- hope the pain is better today! So true about aging, as my buddy says......There's no future in it! Advil, a recliner and football today is prescribed!
Thanks, but I found a complete door frame to use as a pattern. I had it sent to my daughters, due to freight costs to Alaska, so have not seen it yet. But, I hope to take some measurements and pictures and post as a reference.
