Does anyone know this Deuce? M135

There was one in late winter over by Pittsburgh that looked very nice, full canvas (not vinyl), correct paint, and a 105. $6K obo. Boy, do I wish I could have done that. Just looked and it's no longer being advertised. I've seen a few around that were F/S and quite nice, and the handyman...

M105 Big Wheel Vs Small Wheel landing gear

With all that weight pushing down, how'd the box separate from the frame? Everything at the tailgate, playing crack the whip or lifting the box to hook up? Steve

M105 Big Wheel Vs Small Wheel landing gear

The cam-type pin lever is an absolute dream to use. Didn't know they existed until I bought one with it. Only one of my 4 has it. I carry a crow bar for the other 3 to both pull pins and rotate the leg, and they're well-greased. Steve

Does anyone know this Deuce? M135

According to this thread, bed (arguably) = 1400 lbs (or 2K); http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?27663-Weight-of-Deuce-partsI If you're thinking of going that route, it's a good thread to get you thinking. Tires, tailgate, bumper, racks, bows, etc. You could probably find 3K that...

Sheets I have say 13,030 lb w/ow. Pretty much the same as an M35. Steve

What did you do to your deuce this week?

"...I wish the engineers had flipped the mounting tabs 90 degrees so they faced up instead of down. It would have been much easier to do. I twisted the heck out of my right shoulder. Anyway, the new alternator works well..." They are ugly-tight to get to. I thought it would be good if they...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ebay, most of the big vendors, and a few guys have successfully used material from Home Depot/Lowes. Steve

Best way to clean and degrease?

Laundry detergent is slightly different than dish detergent because the latter is really aimed at grease. If I had my druthers and no access to the hard core degreasers, after taking off the caking w/ pressure, I'd brush on straight detergent, let it sit 'til it started to look like it was...

Best way to clean and degrease?

Robo isn't in the States. He might not have access to our brands and might not be able to use them as such if he does. Steve

Best way to clean and degrease?

In my experience, pressure alone does not remove the greasy film. It does remove caked on or thick grease/oil/dirt like you find on the undercarriage. There are several things guys use here that are household items - dishwashing liquid (Dawn, above), oven cleaner, any kind of domestic grease...

Best way to clean and degrease?

Believe it or not, Dawn and scrub brush before the washing machine can work wonders. Steve

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Always replace 2, matched. That said, I'd put a 'can't over charge' charger on for a couple of long 12 hour sessions to see what gives. I had one come back from the dead pretty nicely by giving it a couple of sessions. Let it sit for a couple of days and repeat the load test. Then give it...

    Help Identifying Alternator

Steve's truck was back on the road as of 10:20 this a.m. - Just in time to make it (a bit late and a bit dirty) to Wings 'n Wheels at Teterboro Airport! Great show (esp the Corsair). Missed yesterday's Kiwanis Touch A Truck, but learned a lot. Lots of thanks to everyone who contributed. I...

    Help Identifying Alternator

Well, this isn't gonna work w/ a TM America bracket. I took the time to do some mounting and fitting and fiddling and no matter how you cut it, the alternator shaft is just too close to (or in) the fan. I was wishing it would work just to get the truck running. I'm not gonna get long winded...

    Help Identifying Alternator

For as much as what any of it is worth, the label above carries the part number SM showed for (their version of a) 21si (not an equivalent that should fit.). I wouldn't have agreed to one that approximates it. We'll find out 'how approximate' the import is later today. With what I know now...

    Help Identifying Alternator

OK, a night's sleep later. I spent some quality time with Google, made a few calls and I'll pass along what I learned in case anyone else can use the info. A new 21si that is stamped Delco-Remy is not an easily available item. Alternator shop says they think they can get them but aren't sure...

    Help Identifying Alternator

Don't trust Spider Marine. They advertise name brands, relabel, and ship substitutes. The alternator arrived today and it's Chinese, made by WPS, a company documented in another alternator thread. I'm steamed beyond belief that they would simply ignore written instructions. I've already...
